This is our first trip to DW. I'm traveling with my husband, mother-in-law, and our two daughters (ages 4 & 9). I've read a ton of reviews but most conflict so I'm still trying to make a decision. We're planning on going to Animal Kingdom in the morning and then Hollywood Studios in the afternoon. I currently have a lunch reservation for both Tusker House and Minnie's Seasonal at Hollywood and Vine. It looks like the food will be better at Tusker but character interaction might be better at H&V with the character's in their Halloween costume. Can anyone that has eaten at either or both give me an idea of how character interactions were (we don't want to feel rushed) and how the food was? How about getting in at reservation time, did anyone have to wait for a while until seated?

Food is a very subjective thing. What is "better" will vary with each person. I don't dislike either one of these, though some people have strong opposite opinions. The characters are amazing at both! Either one will give you great character interaction. As far as seating on time, it depends on the crowd that day, how fast people eat/ leave. I've been seated on time and had to wait at both venues. Sorry not to be more definitive, but ....I like them both.

My character interaction at H&V was hands down the worst experience of our entire trip. Daisy and Donald spent an entire hour (if not a bit longer) on the other side of the restaurant. When Daisy came to our side, Daisy bustled right past us (we were the first to be seen by all the other characters). My kids called out (in excitement) "Daisy!" because we were thinking we would have to leave without seeing them.

She turned around and shushed my children after blowing them off. I was livid. The girls didn't yell, they were barely above a speaking voice. She came back, posed for one group pic (no hugs) and hustled off. Donald was similarly rushed.

The characters at TH were terrific! I loved the little parade they do too.

We did both on our last trip. I much preferred the food at Tusker House. The character interactions were about the same.
We had a large party of 9-11 for our meals, so our only wait was making sure everybody was there before they seated us.

My family and I have always loved Tusker. Compared to some other Disney buffets and character meals, Tusker is rated very high in my opinion. Tons of food to choose from; more importantly, really delicious food to choose from. Character interaction is always great and pleasant here; never felt rushed.
