DD19 and I are on the DDP and trying to decide between the two restaurants. What do you recommend and why?

We are fairly adventurous eaters and enjoy both Asian and African foods.

Both are excellent places and we eat at each every trip.
Tusker House advantages:
Characters if that's your thing.
All you care to eat.
Buffet service
RoL dining package can save a fast pass.
African cuisines
Yak and Yeti advantages:
Huge portions. Easy to share meals
Fried wanton dessert.
Asian cuisine

Yak and Yeti is one of our favorites! For my family it wouldn't even be a question. Y&Y wins in our book!

I'm not crazy about buffets so we haven't tried Tusker yet but we loved the food at Yak & Yeti.

We like the food and ambiance at Tusker House. Never eated at Yak & Yeti.

Tusker House is one of my favorites on property, I love most of the food on the buffet, and you can be adventurous without having to commit to a full meal......and everything is delicious!

I've only eaten breakfast at Tusker House, but the food was excellent. A good mix of familiar favorites and new things to try. I tried Yak & Yeti years ago and wasn't impressed with the food and haven't been back since.

I'm not sure if this would be an option, but we love Boma over Tusker. If you are looking for a character meal then it's Tusker without a doubt, and the food is good. If characters aren't and issue then I would definitely choose Yak&Yeti. The food is great and there are plenty of great choices. If you have a chance to try Boma we love it, and I think the food is similar but much better than Tusker.

Yak and Yeti was a huge hit for me and the kids.
Buffets aren't my favorite so I prefer Yak and Yeti over Tusker House.

We don't ordinarily love buffets but the Tusker House buffet is excellent. That said, we LOVE Yak and Yeti, too. We try and squeeze both in on each trip. I'm not much help other than to say that you can't go wrong with either one. It really depends on whether you want buffet with characters or a sit down with no characters. Dare I say that Tiffins is amazing too??

We used to eat at Tusker House every trip, but decided to try new places. We did enjoy it quite a lot since , as someone else stated, you can be adventurous without committing to an entire meal.

We tried Yak and Yeti the first year it was opened and didn't care for the food at all. It would be fair to say things have probably improved over the years and it may be time to give it another try.

I vote Yak and Yeti! It's our favorite restaurant in all of Disney.

We tried Tusker house for dinner but we weren't fans. Very loud, crowded, and the food choices were just average.

:dogdance:Ive never been to YY but I realllllly love Tusker house and if you have smaller chiödren TH is better and the Atmosphere is sooo good and it may be the best Buffet at WDW

We already have a reservation for Boma :p It's one of our favs.

Tusker House hands down. IMO: Better food quality, better service, and more interesting/varied food options.

We tried Y&Y no fewer than 3 times -- mediocre food and worse than average service every time. Reminded us of mall food court fare. Won't go back at this point.

We did both in May. Tucker House has a more limited selection than many buffets but the food is quite good. It's a bit different but I really enjoy it. It is however a character meal and this last trip is was crazy loud and chaotic in there though that has not been as much of an issue on past visits. Yack and Yettie is a new favorite of mine. My food was amazing and service was great.
