We'll be spending our last day on trip in May at AK. We're on the dining plan and will have our last TS credit to use. We will only have disney transportation so our only options are eat dinner at AK before we head back to CSR, eat at CSR when we get back, or head to DTD after we get back (which may be a stretch with 2 tired little ones.) Would you do Tusker House, Rainforest Cafe at AK, Maya Grill at CSR or just go for it and go somewhere at DTD? I've never been to TH, RFC or Maya. TIA!

DO you have kids and do you mind noise? If the answer is that yes you have kids and no you don't mind noise, than you will LOVE the RFC! The whole place is an experience of it's own! I was in awe when we went there. Our kids LOVED it and we had a great meal. That being siad, it is very loud! The rainforest comes alive with a thunder and lightning storm, animls screeching lights flickering...yeah. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxed meal, probably not the place for you. But like I said, it is a total audio/visual experience! I wish I could just go back and sit at the bar though! That was easily THE coolest bar that I have ever seen! If I knew how to post a picture I would. We loved it and I haven't eaten at Tusker so I can't compare. Good luck!

I have eaten at both recently and they are both great choices. On our last vacation (just a few weeks ago) we also ended our vacation at AK and our last meal was at Tusker House. My family loves character meals so it was nice to end our vacation with the characters. The food is great (especially the desserts) and I like to make sure my little ones fill up before we travel so the buffet works out great for us. My kids also love that they can make their own PB&Js! Tusker House only hosts the character meal for breakfast and lunch but we have eaten there without the characters and the kids still liked it, they really like the pb&j station :).
Rainforest Cafe was also a great experience for us. We all loved the food and the theming is really cool but it is VERY loud. My older kids really enjoyed the "thunderstorms" and the gorillas. We all enjoyed the fish tank in the waiting area. It was a very cool experience for us all. Personally, I don't think you could go wrong with either choice. Have a great vacation!

We really enjoyed Tusker House!
Rainforest Cafe is available in several large cities in US and it is very loud, food is less than average. It is like a TGIF Fridays with thunderstorms and animal noises.
Tusker House had characters and GREAT food! Their juice was fabulous. My hubby still talks about our meal there.

I would choose Tusker House. If you're looking into eating there for dinner, though, I don't believe the characters are there. I saw some other posters mention that it was a character meal, and I didn't want that to be your selling point for dinner. Someone will come along and correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it's only a character meal for breakfast and lunch. Still, I would go with Tusker House. Maybe you could make a reservation for one of their latest lunch times?

Something to consider, depending on the ages of your kids, is that some kids are frightened by the big animals and the thunder at RFC. If that's not a problem for you and if you've never been to a Rain Forest Cafe I'd probably choose that just because it would be more fun than TH at dinner. If it was a meal at TH that was going to include the characters, I'd definitely choose that but dinner does not.

RFC is no biggie to us. We have one at our local mall and eat there a few times a year.

If you have never done RFC then I say do that, but like PP had mentioned, if your kids get easily frightened by big animals and lightning/thunder, then I would stay away. We have a RFC that we can go to at home so we always stay away from it when we are at Disney, plus we really like the food at TH...we haven't been to dinner but we really like the lunch and breakfast. Something to consider, why don't you do a lunch at TS (they have characters now) and then go back to CSR for a QS dinner, unless the last night dinner is something you want to make special for your family.
