We have eaten at Boma (supper) in the past. As I look at the descriptions it seems that Tusker House has similar fare. I would appreciate your comparisons and/or preferences of the two. FYI we are a large group 6 adults and 5 kids so buffets are just easy.

Both are wonderful. Boma is going to offer more intriguing fare and a slightly higher-quality expeience, but I've had and enjoy both.

One thing I can say in favor of Boma is that it's been getting steadily better in my past few visits (Sep 08 and Feb 09). Plus, you get to go check out AKL, which is simply beautiful.

I was wondering the same thing - is the food comparable?

We loved Boma last trip and would like to return, but if the food is similar we will go back to AKL for Jiko and hit Tusker House at AK - so that way we don't have to trek out of our way twice!

We love both but Tuskerhouse is a scaled down version of Boma, I think. No soups that I remember, and if any there was maybe one. But at Boma, that is one of the best parts! Tuskerhouse seemed a bit more Americanized food than Boma...both have a good mixture but to us, Boma seemed to have more total dishes so that led to more ethnic choices. Tuskerhouse is more of a lively, busy open restautant whereas Boma is a more subdued, laid back atmosphere.

Both are great so I don't think you could go wrong with either!

These are my two favorite WDW restaurants. The food at both are very similar, but as PP has said there are more choices at Boma. If you are looking to save a little money doing the Tusker House for lunch is nice on your AK day. Boma gives you the advantage of more choices, being in the AKL, and not needing a park ticket. I always do BOMA on my arrival day since I won't be in the parks.

I find neither of these restaurants exotic as far as choices go but for those who do there are plenty of "normal" choices for picky adults and for kids.
