I'm not sure what day we are going to do AK but we want to hit TH when we're there. On the day I would prefer to go, there is an ADR available for 10:10, but on the day that's my second choice, there is an ADR available for 8:15. Which is the better time there in your opinions? I heard that it can be very loud, but is it like that at the opening time, or does it get that way later on?

Thanks.:goodvibes

If you are going for the character breakfast, it's loud all of the tme. We like to do the 10:00 or later seating but that's just us.

We had a 9:20 reservation with the park opening at 9 and didn't find it too loud until around 10 when we were leaving. Not sure if we just got lucky though. We would have gone there even if it was loud though because we like the breakfast buffet better than all others we have tried. Enjoy :)

We like the 8am seating so that we can get into the park early, enjoy breakfast, and then be first in line for the Safari when the park opens at 9. Tusker House is right next to the entrance for the Safari.

I'm for the first seating. You get in and out without losing park time. Since TH is right next to the safari, that's a plus too. Even if you aren't done with breakfast, you could send someone to get FS for later.

Enjoy!

I would pick 8:15 b/c you get to go into a park empty...finish breakfast and start going on rides.

We did the 10am and it was perfect for us. We had a toddler with us (13 mos) so after breakfast we did a bit of park time, then it was time for a nap. As for the loud part, didn't seem any more so than any other character dining. Food is great though!! Try the jungle juice!

Can I ask a related question??

If you want to do the character breaksfast -- is there such thing as "too late" --- meaning, if you get say a breakfast seating time just before the switchover to lunch, will you miss the characters? I'm not sure what time the switchover occurs, but say it's 11:00 and you get a 10:30 seating. We all know that even if you check in early, sometimes it can take 15 - 20min to be actually seated. I like the idea of the later seating, but not if we miss the characters.

We had a 10:25am seating at TH last Nov and the characters were still around when we left at 11:20am. The food was still fresh too and the hot food was hot & the cold food was cold. They really do a great job with everything at TH!!! It's the only character meal we've been to and I'm afraid to try anything else because I feel like TH has spoiled us. As for noise, the 10:25am seating was quieter than our recent 9:25am seating.

We've done both and both have advantages.....eat early then get in to the park to get a start on rides. We typically get done about 10 mins before the park opens. They allow us into the park-we immediately get fp for EE or Sarari.
Or get to the park early-do rides eat later and it can be like a brunch not having to eat a full meal again until supper-just snack.
You could also sleep in and then get there for bkfst...that has never worked for us! We are in Disney....we are too excited to sleep! :lmao:

While I am not a morning person, I like the ADR before the park opens. Plus, you can walk right out of the restaurant onto the Safari ride and beat the rush from rope drop.

We just did a 10:00 reservation last week, I had wished it was earlier but it actually worked out great. They were running late and we probably didn't get seated until at least 10:30, maybe even 10:45. I walked around with the kids and they did some activities, colored masks etc. while DH waited. I also went and fastpassed the Safari. The buffet was packed on our first trip but very shortly it was totally empty, I think it was getting close to lunch, but the food was still hot and plentiful. When we finished we walked right on to Safari in the fast pass line. I loved Tusker House, this was a first time for us and it was my favorite breakfast of the trip.

On this board to find the answer to the very same question! We've always done 8am breakfast before park opening, but thought about moving to a "brunchier" time. We had a terrible experience last year at CP with this time, so I am hesitant to try again, glad to hear TH does it right!

This makes me feel better thanks!:thumbsup2

I have tried all day, every day to get an earlier ADR for the day we want to go with no luck. DH doesn't want to switch our touring days because we found out that friends will be visiting WDW at the same time. The day I wanted to switch to (with MK) is their last day there and they will be at MK too, so DH wants to see them on that day.

Maybe we will be there for rope drop at 9am and get a quick safari ride or get FP for later.

Thanks for all the advice.:goodvibes
