My DS6 wants to do a character dining experience this year when we go to WDW the week of Christmas. We go to WDW often and have been on 2 cruises with character breakfasts. He will have just turned 7 by then. Which one would be the best? He said he wanted to do Tusker House, but last year he got upset when he saw the characters at CM (We stayed at BLT and will be staying there again.). I'm just not sure because I saw the reviews where CM wasn't clean, etc. Opinions? TIA.

We're doing all three of these in May!! It will be our first time doing each of them for breakfast but we've done the dinners every trip. I'm really looking forward to trying them for the first time!! :thumbsup2

Chef Mickey all the way! I haven't been to Tusker House but we did not like
O'hana (even though lots of people rave about it). The food at Chef Mickey is okay. What makes it is the way the staff engage the children during the little show. They start to sing "Celebrate" and twirl their napkins over their heads.
The kids loved it. They were so happly singing and waving their napkins. That was worth the price. The dessert bar is one of the best. My family didn't really like O'hana much. The meats were very dry and tasteless. I would say go to Chef Mickey's for the characters and the entertainment. The kids will have fun.

We've never been to Tusker House either, but definitely preferred Chef Mickey over O'Hana. Chef Mickey's had a huge variety of food and the character interaction was wonderful the day we were there.

Can't really help you as I LOVE all three!! .. and will be doing all three in August.. in addition to Cape May .... The character buffets are the only sit down meals we do during the trip.. and as long as my little guy (who will be turning 7 this trip) wants to interact with the characters, I will continue to book them!! Relish every moment!!! :)

We did 6 character breakfasts on our trip back in December, including these 3 meals.

Tusker House was our favorite, hands down. The meal was great. The buffet is really big and the food was delicious. We enjoyed the characters here alot. It is a must do for future trips.

Ohana was our next favorite. We really liked the food (fresh fruit and traditional breakfast items served family style.) The characters were good here as well. We hope to do this on future trips too.

Chef Mickey's was our least favorite of the 6. The food was the worst of all the ones we tried. The characters here are great, but I felt they were very rushed as well. I don't think we will do Chef Mickey's again in the future.

Have a great trip!

Tusker House for the great buffet and Ohana for the fruit and delicious bread...I really didn't need anything else except for the coffee:) I did eat other things, but, the bread was to die for:) Enjoy:)

We did all of three of these last week (Tusker house for breakfast, CM for dinner and Ohana for dinner) Tusker House was by far the best!! I was not impressed with the food at Chef Mickey's at all. The desserts were great, but the meal itself was really limited I thought and the atmosphere was just so-so. The buffet at Tusker House was fantastic!!! I also love the way the restaurant is decorated and how the center where the buffet is looks like an outdoor market.

Pros -
O'hana-most relaxed, best character interaction, best bread, best juice, family style
Tusker House - best variety of food
Chef Mickey - best classic characters

Cons -
O'hana - limited menu
Tusker House - really loud
Chef Mickey - really loud too, and most junk food

If we had to pick one, it would be O'hana (on the must-do list for our family), but would like to go back to Tusker House just for the food (or maybe breakfast at Boma would be comparable? Only did dinner there which was amazing.)

I'd go w/TH - the buffet was good, and it's neat to see the gang in their safari gear. Plus you're right next to the Safari ride to jump on, or grab FP.

I say Ohana, to me it is the most relaxing since everything comes to you. The food was really good too. We have done Ohana for breakfast and dinner every trip so far. Also, Stitch is usually really fun wth the kids. Last time we were there we had a late breakfast, we saw all the characters and had pics and autographs, then a little later lthey came around and just played with the kids( they were not many people left by this time). Hands down favorite. We also did Tusker House and my family really enjoyed the food here too. As far as Chef Mickey, have only been there for dinner and will never go back.

At Tusker House the kids are given percussion instruments and can join in the parade, and the food is much better than at chef mickeys!
