We have 7:55 reservations at Tusker House but the park closes at 8:00. Will we be rushed? How much time will we have with the characters?

We haven’t ever been rushed at any meal at closing. We had Tiffins this year at 7:55, and had plenty of time. We left after 9:30.

We had the best time when we had a Tusker House reservation before closing. It was awesome. The characters came around more than once as the place thinned out. I was trying to rush because I was afraid of there not being a bus (silly me) but the waitress told me not to worry. When we were ready to leave it was a really nice peaceful walk back to the front of the park and there was a bus waiting right there for us to take us to the resort (I suspect they radio ahead since the hostess asked what resort we were at). It was a really great experience.

Eating at closing in AK is one of our favorite things to do. You are not rushed at all. After the meal, you walk the empty park, being greeted by CMs coming in for the nighttime shift then you get your private bus back to your resort.

I try to book an ADR at one of the parks close to closing during every trip. I hobby is taking pictures and there is nothing like walking thru a virtually empty park to take pictures and no one tries to hurry you along.

This! I would do it again in a heartbeat! It was like walking through our own private park.

1) You will not be rushed.
. . . just don't mind the people standing against the wall rapping their fingers and tamping their feet
. . . the guy in the corner with the cattle prod doesn't count either
2) For characters
. . . each table will see the characters
. . . after the characters have visited all the tables ONCE, they are released to go home
. . . unlike the rest of the day, they do not return and continue to circulate
. . . at closing, the interaction is less than during the remainder of the day, due to people wanting to get home
. . . remember, characters are employees and want to try to keep to their schedule and get home "close to" on-time - - - this is your vacation, but this is their daily job

So by that logic, why should we even bother eating at any restaurant and forcing people to work? Do they not make the schedules with the later seatings in mind?

I’m sorry, but reading your posts like this makes me feel like an imposition for eating ANY time.

This would be the complete opposite of what a PP said happened when they had a reservation at Tusker House at closing. I think I'm much more likely to believe the person who has had the first hand experience and said that the characters came around more than once.

Makes me feel the same way as well.

In fairness that was my experience in 2015. It’s possible that’s changed. AK closed earlier in those days. And maybe we just timed it right. I don’t remember what time our reservation was for but maybe they came around twice before the actual closing. It was as it was thinning out for the night and they definitely came around more than once but maybe we just got lucky.
