I need some advice. My original plan for our November trip was to have breakfast at Tusker House at 9:30 on an EMH day when the park opens at 8 am.

After reading some more on this site, I found an Easy WDW crowd calendar that says to avoid the parks on early EMH days - and that day AK is not recommended at all.

Can anyone offer advice on this? I will have 3 kids aged 11, 8, and 2 1/2. We are not early morning people, but to see Donald Duck, I think I can get them moving. We planned to spend the whole day at AK until it closes as it is our only day there. But if it will be crowded and we have to take 45-60 mins for breakfast, is it worth it to get up early and fight crowds on that day?

Here is my itinerary for reference. Keep in mind this is the first week of November....

Weds- Fly in 5pm.....Epcot til midnight
Thurs- MK at 8 am...all day.....downtown Disney at night...bed early
Fri - AK at 8 am... Tusker House breakfast at 9:30.. Epcot pm
Sat - HS at 8 am....nap.....MK til 1:00 am
Sun - Chef Mickeys and head to a beach for the day....maybe a park in pm
Mon - Epcot at 9 am.....HS in afternoon til close emh
Tues - MK 9 am.....fly home 5 pm

I am thinking maybe I should switch Friday and Sat am's and do breakfast on a non emh day instead? Do you think we would see more at AK that day since crowds may be lower? I am stuck! Thanks in advance for your help, Disney experts :confused3

I'm pretty sure the first week of Nov is overall a pretty slow week, so you may be okay either way.

We're going at the end of August (overall crowd levels are normally pretty low). I'm gonna try and tackle DAK on an EMH morning with a Tusker House ADR for 8:40am. The plan is to get there for 8am RD, ride the safari and then grab a FP to do it again after breakfast and then tour the rest of the park.

We just got back on Friday. AK had EMH from 8-9 on Wednesday. We had Tusker House reserved for 9:15. AK was park to avoid that day, but we didn't really think it was extremely crowded. Africa was the most crowded and of course it was really crowded in Camp Minnie-Mickey when FOTLK let out. We did pretty much everything I had planned and made it out of the park before closing. I don't really look at the crowd calendars, I try to go to the parks with morning EMH (DD is more a morning person than a night person so evening EMH don't really work for us).

The morning EMH parks start getting crowded later in the morning. AK, on an EMH morning, is one of my favorite places to have a late morning ADR for brunch. I tend to book my meal for 10:15ish. I get to the park for 8am EMH, do a bunch of stuff before it gets too crowded, eat and then possibly leave and head to another park.

I have a mid-morning ADR at Tusker House on a morning EMH day too, and am starting to worry. I also have an early evening ADR at MK on a "park to avoid" day. I'm wondering if I should try to flip my days, or just leave them alone??

Like goofy4tink, I was thinking it would be ok because we could get there really early, knock a few things out, have late breakfast, do a couple more things (like Boneyard, which the kids loved last time), then leave.

At MK, by dinner time, would the crowds have thinned on an EMH day or will it still be one to avoid?

I would keep it the way you have it. You will have taken advantage of the golden hour if you make it to rope drop and the breakfast will be welcomed by then. I did this last October and thought it was a great way to do it.

Is it an a.m. EMH day at MK? Or an evening one? If it is an a.m. EMH then I think you will be fine. Also, if it is an evening EMH at MK you can eat early then stay late for rides after the non-disney guests leave. I LOVE late nights at MK.

I think I will leave it alone. Getting FP and some favorites out of the way early will work better for us since we only plan to spend one day at AK anyway....

It's a morning EMH at Magic Kingdom, and we have a lunch ADR there.

The 10am ADR at Tusker House is also on a morning EMH at AK.

I was able to find similar reservations by flipping my AK/MKdays (putting Tusker House at 9:30 on a day when there is no morning EMH), but without the extra time in the morning, I don't know if I'd want that. By the time we get out of breakfast, the park will already be filling in. At least with the early EMH, we can probably do two/three items before breakfast.

There's not a lot at AK that we really *have* to do in the morning, (like must get to DHS early to ride Toy Story Mania). The kids probably won't do Everest or Dinosaur (too scary), we did the safari 2 yrs ago, and while it was pretty cool, I don't know if we'll do it again. Our favorites were the Bird show, the Boneyard, and we'd like to try the Nemo show. (We did Lion King last time.)

Good plan, I would keep it the same and try to do a few things b4 you eat. Have a great time!
