I have a 9:05 ADR the morning after MNSSHP. I have two girls, almost five and 11 months at the time of our trip.

I really want to try TH, but am concerned about being too tired from the night before to make this ADR.

I can't move it to another day. Nothing is available.

Is keeping this ADR worth it? We are also doing Ohana and CRT for sure. And maybe 1900 Park Fare....

The day after the party we try to sleep in. I typically just grab food on the go from our garden grocer order. Is it a must?

That's what I'm trying to decide. I've never been so I don't know if it's a not to miss. We are doing other character meals which are a must for us, such as Ohana and CRT!

Skip it. It's ok but not worth the joy that is sleeping in that morning. Last time we slept till about 930.
You'll feel better and ready to take on the day

I really like TH for breakfast, but I agree that may be too early after such a late night. Maybe keep checking for a later ADR, they do open up sometimes. I have the opposite issue, I wanted a pre park open for TH and I could only get a 10:30. So, I've been checking most everyday hoping one will open up.

It's worth continuing to check for a later time. But it's not worth being up early after the party.

I vote sleep in. I know how disappointing to give up an ADR that is hard to get. My sister is coming into town and decided she wanted to go to AK the after we had plans to go there. I figured it was better to be with family then go to the Tusker House. I searched and searched for a new ADR for our new AK day. I caved and paid one of the search bots to find one. Nothing for over 3 weeks, then final I got one. I think if you are patient and check A LOT you can get a new ADR.

What I would be more concerned about is the 9:05am ADR when the park presumably opens at 9am. The first hour of the day at any park is crucial to ride the headliners without much of a wait, particularly the safari at AK. I would either cancel the ADR or try to move it to mid-late morning like 10:30 or so.

We made the day following MNSSHP an epcot world showcase day so we didnt feel so much pressure to be there early to do rides. So we will sleep in, then maybe swim..then head to the park. I would keep looking for a cancellation for a later time, because my girls LOVE TH! If you can't get it, it will be ok because you have other great meals. But keep looking up until the day before! You may find an odd time!

We pushed our TH to 10:45a for this trip and routinely do this in Disneyland. We utilize the magic mornings in DL and then have a leisurely breakfast/brunch as the crowds pour in (we smugly drink our coffee as we've already ridden many of the key attractions before they arrive :)). We are less likely to do this in WDW as we typically follow Josh's easywdw.com strategy and skip the park with the morning magic hours. With or FP+'s and our plan for AK it made sense for us to move the breakfast back to a brunch.

If you are happy with your FP+ the rest of the day and don't feel like you are missing out by not being there for RD then do as many have suggested/agreed and back up the breakfast a bit if you cant skip TH. Follow your instincts as only you know how your family will react to a short turn around from the party to AK the next am. However, I cant agree more, do not give up the "golden" first hour in any park to eat. It is the least crowded time to enjoy the sites and a few key attractions.

Okay we were able to get a late lunch ADR for tusker house! We are scheduled for 1:45.

I also moved our hoop de doo reservation that night from 6:15 to 8:30 since we'll be getting a late start that day.

That way we can sleep in and order room service that am. :)

Here are a couple of things to factor in your decision: 1) You mentioned other character meals but none with Mickey, Donald, Minnie. If they are favorites, it may be worth it to keep the ADR. Also, the characters are only at breakfast so you may be able to get a later reservation but it might not be a character meal. 2) Is this your only AK day? If so, can you FP+ any headliners you may want for right after your breakfast or late afternoon? This might allow you to make breakfast, wander around a little bit and then go back and take a looooong nap. (if your kiddos are nappers) or will it completely ruin your plans if Sally Sweetheart turns into Grumpy Gus and needs to call it an early day? 3) How do your kiddos sleep at home? My DD is up at daylight regardless of what time we were able to get home the night before and my DS will sleep past noon even if he goes to bed at 9:00pm. And the same question applies for the adults. If you are a habitual early risers, it may really be a moot point. and finally 4) If you have MNSSHP, then a full day at AK, how will the NEXT day go? Sometimes the first day after an event "hurts" less than the second day!

For our family, AK is a more leisurely park anyway (as a PP said about going to EPCOT and WS). We want to hit Kilamanjaro Safari, the boys want to ride Everest, get back together for Kali River Rapids and maybe the Lion King show and whatever else may strike our fancy but it's much more laid back, no rushing, for us. But everyone is different and has different favorites. :) Having said this, I cannot wait for our next trip (tentatively June 2017) when the new Rivers of Light and so much other new stuff will be available!

Bottom line, you know your family best and what they can tolerate. If you are asking the question, you probably already have a good idea of the answer. Trust your gut and either way should work out fine. And if you miss TH this trip -- Maybe it can be a reason to come back! LOL

*** One other little opinion if you will indulge me: You mentioned 1900 Park Fare. We have been for both breakfast and dinner and much prefer dinner. Breakfast is Mary Poppins, Alice, Pooh, & Mad Hatter and is the typical Disney Breakfast Buffet -- good but nothing spectacular. Dinner however, was FABULOUS! Cinderella and Charming, Lady Tremaine, and Anastasia and Druciella (sp?). The step sisters are a HOOT! And the food is very good as well. ;)

Thanks! Tusker House now features characters all day. :)

I have the same issue, I wasn't thinking when I booked Akershus for 9am the next morning after a MNSSHP. It's our ONLY Epcot day and I cannot get a later ressie. I have no idea what to do.

Keep checking. We were able to move our late lunch to a late breakfast and get a 10:50 ADR!
