What exactly is this? The official Disney site doesn't give too much detail except that it is interactive. Is it like a character meet, a show, what?

Thanks!

TTwC is an interactive show in the Living Seas. Its in a small theater near the scuba tank. Therre are covered "benches" for the adults, and plenty of floor space up front for the children. There is a large viewscreen that mimics a fishtank glass. Crush is called by name, and he swims up to the "glass" and begins to talk with everyone, especially the children. He is able to specifically answer questions, even noting the color of the child's shirt (shell as he calls it). I was on one of the back benches, and I was lucky enough to talk with Crush. This is "way cool" in turtle talk. One of the children actually asked Crush if he liked Spiderman, to which Crush answered that he didn't know who SPiderman was, but he sounded like a really cool dude. I would advise you to get there at least 15-20 minutes prior to show time so that you will be able to get into the theater. The CMs count the guests as you go in, since there is limited seating.

You HAVE to do this! :goodvibes My son is 11, and was smiling from ear to ear. My DH and I even enjoyed it. :cheer2:
The have the adults on bleachers (like carpeted steps), behind the children, who sit on the floor. There is a huge "aquarium" in front, where Crush appears. Since crush is "there" he can see everyone. So he interacts with the children. The children can ask questions to Crush, about his life, or any other characters I suppose. What's cute is they get the adults to interact too, like they made us do the "wave" :thewave: which got us kids-at-heart smiling. It's not very long, but easily something you could do over again, knowing that there will be different questions; as well as Crush is able to ask questions to the children as well.

Even for an adult its cool just trying to figure out how they get the interaction to be so "real" looking. I am sure its computers and when the person talks into the microphone it probably mimics the sounds they make similiar to a typewriter that types based on voice sounds. The kids are all so amazed and stunned. It really is cute!!

We were just talking about Crush this morning. We went to this last week during our trip and LOVED it! We've all been imitating him since we saw it. "I see a dudette in a pink sleeveless shell." "Cool dude."

My DS 5 loved this attraction! Crush talked to the "little guy with the blue lid" alot! (my ds was wearing his blue Buzz hat) He must have interacted with my DS for atleast 1/3 of the show (of course it was early Dec.). Crush told my DS he was a natural at turtle speak and now he says "Dude" all the time! And, thanks to Crush, my DS's new nickname is "Jammin' Jarod". This was so fun! Everyone should go and check this out, it is really amazing technology.

Thank you all!

Usually DH and I go alone to Epcot and go straight to the World Showcase. This is the first time we will be taking our 3 year old, so I am scoping out the things he is going to like. I described this earlier today thanks to all of your answers, and he is so excited (and I am too)!

Thanks again.

I hate we missed this! It sounds really cute. We were in the Living Seas and saw a line for it, but not being quite sure what it was we didn't wait.

Oh well, another reason to go back. ;)

LOOK!!! It's humans . . . in the human tank!! :rotfl2:

It was TOTALLY AWESOME DUDE!!! CHAAAAAA!
:goodvibes

This was terrific...do not miss it.
Think of some questions ahead of time to ask Crush, he will be asking for them from the audience.

Just a tip, you can skip the pre-show (IMO it's not worth it) and go directly to the "hydrolators". As soon as you exit, head straight for the Turtle Talk line.

For those who don't know, Dory has now joined Crush. She teaches you to speak whale.

:Pinkbounc That is DS's favorite character in Nemo, thank you, I am so looking forward to this!

DisneyCP2002 - where at WDW do you work?

Turtle Talk is awsome, dude!
:rotfl:
Very, very, cool.
And I had to laugh over the tip to enter in the exit. That is what I do. I could never figure out why the multiple que lines that really amounted to nothing to enter. :confused3 I think it creates crowds, rather than helps crowd control. :p

Some questions we heard kids ask:
How old is your daddy?
What do you eat?

One corner of the room were very small kids who asked the same questions already asked and answered, or were dead silent after raising their hand to ask a question.
The look on Crush's face was priceless. :rotfl:
He made comments about that being the Dory section. :rotfl:

We did this for the first time on our last trip and it was one of our favorite attractions!!! They let the kids go up front and sit on the carpet and the adults sit on benches behind them. Our DD7 is a little shy about things like this so she was nervous to be separated from us... she wasn't sure if it was okay probably because of us being so worried all week about getting separated in the park. Well, from where we were sitting we couldn't really see her so when Crush started asking questions we thought that she would never have the nerve to ask one until he called on the the little dudette in the pink sleeveless shell which was DD. She asked who his friends are in the ocean. TOO CUTE! He went into the whole story about Dory and out she came with the whale etc. She is already thinking up her next question for our next trip.

Even if you don't have kids with you, I still recommend seeing Turtle Talk. I went with my DH and sister/BIL and we all really enjoyed the "show". They couldn't figure out what this was about beforehand and were rather reluctant to "waste" the time. They were all glad they did!

In our group we were 3 adults and all really enjoyed it.
I was surprised at how small the room is.
But Turtle Talk is worth the wait!
It is good for the entire family.

I agree with many of the previous posts, this is totally cool. My Dh and I loved it because it is real-time animation which just blew us away and my DD's loved it too. My only complaint was the queue. We got in line and no where does it tell you how long the wait is (so unusual for Disney) and then you are just standing ther ein the middle of the pavillion. The queue line was very wide and when they told us to "Fill in all available space, people began pushing around us. It only fits 150 people in the theater so we actually only had to wait through 1 show and we were in the next must is was not enjoyable at all.
Did anyone else find this. I have to say, this was the ONLY attraction/line that was not well taken care of. I guess I can't really conplain about that, huh? I was just really surprised that this was not better handled. Any thoughts/comments are welcome. :earsgirl:

On the advice of some friends who had been previously, we were prepared and got a chance to ask Crush, "Do turtles ever get the hiccups?" It was great watching Crush handle this - hic!!!

The post above about the hiccups, made me think about an interation Crush had with someone in the audience.

Did anyone else see Crush talking about the food humans like to eat and ask about getting the "bubbles" ?

I laughed so hard at this part a cried.

So did my 5 year old daughter.
