I've heard the waits for Turtle Talk w/Crush have gotten really long, anyone have an idea for the best strategy? Go early? Go late, near park closing?
I love Turtle Talk, but really don't want to wait an hour plus...any chance they've added an FP for this?

PS. I'll be there early May, so hopefully it won't be too bad!

The only suggestion I have is skip it! :)

Seriously we were there last week and the line was forever long so we did skip it but my kids are long and didn't know the difference.

If Epcot opens at 9am. Living Seas opens at 9am, Turtle Talk first show is at 10am.

Go to LS about 9:30 and keep an eye on the TT queue as you wander around the other exhibits. When a line starts to form (probably about 9:45) go stand in it.

That's what we do, and its about the most reliable method.

Mornings are always less crowded than evenings.

I would never take "long kids" to see Crush.

(What the heck are long kids?) I guess you meant "young".
:goodvibes

But kidding aside, you missed a VERY good attraction.
Like anything else, if the lines are long, find a better time to attend.
(Such as early in the morning.)

My 7 y.o. DD and I were at Disney from March 8-18. Wen't to EPCOT 3 days at opening (9am). Went directly to Soarin' to ride and get a FP for later. Then went directly to Crush (appx 9:30) and just hung out in the other exhibits, gift shop, etc. and got in line when the crowd started to gather. Worked like a charm each time. It's a really open area with several things to see, so it's easy to see how many people are gathering for Crush. You shouldn't have a problem. Crush is so worth the wait, IMHO! :) Good luck!

Hi Inger. WELCOME to the DISboards!

(And thanks for agreeing with my "secret plan" to see Crush.) ;)

DUDE(-ette), you SO Rock!

(as the Crush-man would say.) :thumbsup2

Thanks for the welcome ROBO!

Hadn't been to Disney in years and have been a "lurker" on this board for over a year now. Learned an amazing amount of info that helped me so much on my trip in March!! It turned out to be a perfect trip, thanks mostly to info. found on this board and PassPorter. I still lurk on here daily (almost), but have never had the confidence to respond to anything, but this was actually a subject I knew something about and thought I could help. Love this board!! Planon going back in Oct. '07 for MNSSHP if things work out. So, I'll still be lurking about :)

How offended would folks be if I stood in line with dd4 while my husband walks dd1 around. In other words, how understanding are folks about someone joining the group/line at the last minute if it is clear it is because there is a young child involved? I'm not sure what my reaction would be? My gut reaction woudl be to be understanding...but I could see why others would say "Why doesn't the little one have to wait in line, too?"

There have been MANY LONG THREADS about this kind of thing on the boards.

The general consensus was since this is Disney, there are many, many parties which include a "small child", so its unfair that ONE small child would take precedence over another (or MANY others).

Most folks are very understanding about unexpected "potty-breaks" (or similar "emergencies") but simply holding a space IN-LINE while others in your group go sight-seeing is generally not considered "good form".

In practice, most of the kids queue-up and wait with their respective groups and enter all at once.

And with Turtle Talk, the queue is very narrow (posts and ribbons).
The doors to the theater open without advance warning, the former audience empties quickly, and the next group is allowed to enter.
Its a bit hard to "re-join" your party under these conditions.

But I'm sure its done... and nobody will do you "harm" if you want to try it.

Turtle Talk is worth the wait but I agree about getting there when it opens. Otherwise you don't know how long your wait will be.

I don't think you should walk around and then rejoin the line with a young child.

Anybody know the capacity of this attraction? I would like to be able to judge when to get in line, based on how many are already there and how many it holds at one time.

I think our DS would like this, but now I have to figure out how to work in Test Track and Soarin if I can't do one of them at opening. My best guess is to grab the Soarin FP on the way to Turtle Talk (as Inger mentioned), then return to Soarin after Turtle. Next head straight to Test Track and hope the FP return time isn't at dinnertime! Is there any chance my FP return for Soarin would be up before we finish Turtle? How long is Turtle?

Thanks all.
Tammy

Well I just got back and I am one of those rude people that had my DH hold my place in line while I took my girls over to look at the manatees. We had a party of 11 so I do not think that me taking my girls over there for 5 minutes was a huge deal but I know others have differing opinions.

Theater only holds about 100 folks (including kids on the floor, up front).

Show is about 15 minutes.

Doubt you'd miss your Soarin' return time (if you do, it would not be by much and you'd likely have not trouble using those FP -within limits- anyway (we didn't with our expired Soarin' FP's on two different days).
