Turtle Shack

Going middle of May. Was thinking of requesting Turtle Pond area at OKW. I heard some people say the turtle shack is not always open, that it's a hit or miss. Is this true or is it open everyday.

I wonder if some people are thinking it's closed because it has short hours, and people go there after it closes for the day. For instance, it closes at 5:30. Suppose a family is out to the parks during the day, comes back and rests/watches TV/whatever. Then around 6:00 or later, they decide to get dinner. They go to Turtle Shack but it's closed, or so they think-perhaps just normal closing hours. the Turtle Shack will be open again at 11:30 tomorrow, but the family will be out at the parks again.

I love Turtle Pond - you may want to check if the pool is being refurbed on your dates. Earlier this year the pool tiles were disintegrating

It might be seasonal---in colder months, it might not be worth opening if the pool traffic is low. DFB suggests as much:

I would guess it is likely to be open in May. But I dimly recall it not being open in a February trip, but that was years (and years and years) ago.
