Does anyone know when the snack shack at the turtle pond pool opens? We love it there but I am afraid it may not be open yet.

We have only been there once when it was open. It seems to be open less each year.

It's at one of the quite pools at OKW. Last June they told me it was closed indefinitely. I don't know what the current status is.

Actually, Turtle Pond Road is our favorite part of OKW. So quiet, so restful, such a contrast to the parks and DTD! Had no idea what it was like when the front desk offered us a villa there, but Building 31 is now one of our favorites; it's also one of the resorts at which we own. Guess it figures that we'd know OKW pretty well already. That and the Reedy Creek Fire Department EMTs! Hi, Jason!

There is a note on the AllEarsNet dining page for Old Key West has "CLOSED" next to the menu for the Turtle Shack Snacks (which was last updated in May 2005). I don't know if that is any indication of whether or not the place will be open this summer. I suppose you could always call Member Services and ask. If you do, please post something here to let us know.

Be still my heart!!!! Love the snack bar there.....great strawberry daquiris. We always request Turtle pond when we stay at OKW that would be a huge disappointment if it's closed indefinitely.

Well, I can tell you that last Wednesday it was definitely open-DH walked over and got a sandwich there. They had everything except what had to be grilled-no hamburgers. When I saw that it was closed on Deb Wills' site, I wondered. It was open last week!

That's great. It was a major drag last year to go to the main pool to pick up lunch and bring it back to turtle pool.
