We will be traveling with DD3 and DS4, and really don't plan to do any excursions. R&R onboard sounds perfectly Magical to DH and I! However, the turtle farm on Grand Cayman sounds intriguing. Anyone have any info on it? How to get there, cost, is it worthwhile, age appropriate, etc.? Thanks!

We visited the turtle farm on our first visit to Grand Cayman and we enjoyed it. Not what I would call exciting, but interesting. My DDs (then 7 & 10) really enjoyed holding the small turtles. We went on the excursion because I didn’t want to drive and learning about the island was nice.

Here’s the link;

I thought I had read a not so positive review of the Turtle Farm (PassPorter maybe?), but can't find it now. I would like to hear feedback on this also because it sounds like a good option for young children.

We did this as part of the package where you visit Hell and the Stingray swim. Everyone in our group enjoyed this part of the tour. Now if that was the only thing we set out for, I don't think it would have been worth all the trouble. But quiet nice, nonetheless.

I'm not sure if the Turtle Farm is open. I thought I read somewhere it was pretty much destroyed during the hurricanes that went through earlier in the fall (the same ones we had here in Cent. Fla.). Perhaps some of it has been rebuilt and is open but do not know for sure.

Have been there twice and enjoyed it but found the tour rushed a bit.

That was a report I passed on which turned out to be completely inaccurate.

The Turtle Farm is doing just fine, and would echo the sentiments of the others, fun place, but don't know if I'd go all the way there just for it.
