I am turning 50 two days before we arrive at the BWV's . Now I am a self proclaimed Disney Geek. Love Disney love being a member. I love Disney!!! I am not a big person on surprises, so I have asked my other half no Big 50 birthday bash, I'm going to Disney!!!! However I would like to be treated a little special when I am in Disney of course, why because I Love Disney. I have a question. Do you think quest service will do anything special for me ? I have told them I am turning 50, but I guess I am looking for some Pixie Dust. Any suggestions from anyone would be great!!!!!!!:woohoo:

I've spent many, many birthdays at BWV ... and with 10,000 of my "closest friends" thanks to IBM Conference schedules. Several years I've been surprised on my special day to find a balloon and card in the room -- the most recent included a photo of several Disney Princesses. The card was signed by each Princess and included their warm wishes. :)

Maybe and maybe not. I choose to often go to Disney for my Birthday. I've gotten a couple little things like a signed picture from Donald and Minnie and things like that but not always. Back in the day before Disney did the "what will you celebrate?" promotion when everyone started getting buttons for everything I believe it was more unique and they went out of their way a bit more. Now I think you just need to go in planning on making your own special occasions and if anything comes from Disney it's a birthday bonus.

You will definately get a birthday button at check in.

Happy Birthday! Wear the button - it will get you lots of Happy BD messages.

You might want to stop reading now and give this to your family to read... up to you. :-)

My husband turned 50 on the last day of our trip. He's not one for alot of fanfare but was good with the attention on this trip. I guess 50 made it special.
We arranged for a birthday call to our room. It was a voicemail from the Mickey (I think) maybe some of the gang. It wasn't a huge deal, but it was cute. It was also there early in the trip and was free. We also stopped by the Christmas store and had the BD ornament personalized as a surprise for him. They added "50th" "Dad" and the date on the back along with fireworks. He loved it. You can also add the BD information to the dining ressies. On a prior trip my son received lots of BD songs and free cupcakes. :)

I celebrated my 40th at Disney this past April. I wore my pin and got lots of birthday wishes. I got the voice mail from Mickey, cupcakes at different restaurants, and 2 cards (Cape May Cafe and Garden Grill I believe). At Flame Tree BBQ the staff will sing a Happy Birthday number when you order. I think they sang it two or three times in a row when I was there!

We've ben going lately 2x a year, once in Oct close to DD's Bday and once in early Dec close to mine. We always make sure to get the birthday pins. Sometimes we have gotten signed pictures from Mickey, we always get the birthday phone message from Mickey, and one trip I got balloons and some candy.

Mostly, we've gotten free desserts at TS restaurants. >>; California Grill use to have a special cake only for people celebrating a birthday, I've gotten free alcohol (small serving) at Artist's Point, and I (and DD) have gotten a LOT of free cupcakes. I can now say, WDW tends to do white frosting on yellow cupcakes, while DL does chocolate frosting on chocolate cupcakes. I admit, by the end of my stays I tend to stop wearing the pin lol

I admit, last Oct, we went all out and did the B-day package at Cindy's for DD, as she was turning 3. It was expensive, and TBH I wouldn't do it again. The cake was too sweet and the special balloon blew away during the Halloween Party!

Well the obvious best way to celebrate turning 50 is to; add-on 50 points to your membership at whichever resort you choose!
