Tuesday was a day I was really looking forward to: Animal Kingdom at night. We never seemed to sleep in this trip, and really enjoyed shrugging on sweaters and going out to enjoy the early mornings with the animals. We even had pelicans this morning. Native Floridian ones, I think. I hurried and snapped a picture.
Speaking of animals, until this point, I have been horribly neglectful in not mentioning our own private zoo. We brought some small chocolates with us to WDW, and had gotten into the habit of leaving a couple with the envelope for the mousekeeper each day. The first day we did this, we got a wonderful elephant. I got a picture of him, but he unfortunately fell apart before he could be set on top of the dresser/tv cabinet. The next day, we returned to find: an aardvark? I think. It had pointier nose and ears, anyway. It was cute. That survived the trip on to the tv cabinet, and I'll try to remember the others in order as they happened.
We headed off to the MK this morning to bat cleanup on the attractions we hadn't done this time, and some we wanted do-overs on. We did Stitch again. I'm sorry, I know this has it's detractors, but we liked it. I thought it was cute, and the animatronic Stitch was pretty cool. We also did the Fantasyland attractions we missed, to the exasperation of DH who wouldn't care if he never rode Peter Pan and Snow White again. However, he's married to me, and he loves me, and so he humours me.
We stopped at Sleepy Hollow for our traditional picture there with the castle in the backdrop, and got a CM to take the picture. Then we had an extremely nutritious lunch of Funnel Cakes, which DS had never had before. I should have remembered from the beignets of years gone by that he would end up covered in powdered sugar from head to toe. It's a talent he has. We did HM again, and hit Pirates and Tiki Birds.
Then off to AK for the rest of the day, and EMH evening. Since we'd already done the back 40, we headed into Dinoland USA. FPs were out for Dinosaur, and standby was long, so we chose Primeval Whirl, and went on it twice in a row. Then we headed down the Cretaceous trail for some pictures.
By this time, DH's bad ankle was starting to go, so we figured we'd head to Pizzafari for rest and dinner. It didn't help, but DH did not want this to ruin our evening, so insisted we stay while he went back to the resort to rest.
We did Primeval Whirl again, and Dinosaur, which had been down was finally back up. We couldn't leave without doing that. Back to the Cretaceous we went. Our mission was succesful, and then we checked into the digsite for a few minutes climbing.
Then, back to the hotel for another soak in the hot tub, after checking on DH who was limping about, but otherwise OK. Then off to bed, tomorrow was another long day.
