I made a decision awhile back that I would try to watch at least one classic movie a week. Now, that sounds easier than it really is. Finding classic movies to rent is pretty hard. I'm not talking about movies made in the 60s, 70s, etc. I'm talking about older classic films. Thank goodness, I discovered Turner Classic Movies. Not only do they show good films on their cable channel, but they have a great website to purchase films at reasonable prices.

I got a package yesterday containing films I ordered. For every so many DVDs you purchase, you get some free. It's great. I just purchased the following:

Friendly Persuasion - Gary Cooper, Dorothy McGuire, Anthony Perkins

Cheaper By The Dozen - Clifton Webb, Jeanne Grain, Myrna Loy

Titanic (The Original) - Clifton Web, Barbara Stanwyck

Heaven Knows Mr. Allison - Robert Mitchum, Deborah Kerr

The Ghost And Mrs. Muir - Rex Harrison, Gene Tierney

Inherit The Wind - Spencer Tracy, Fredric March, Gene Kelly

Mr. Hobbs Takes A Vacation - Jimmy Steward, Maureen O'Hara

Now, I've seen all of the movies in the past, but it has been years. They are all great movies that I want to share with my DD.

This past week, I watched The Nun Story starring Audrey Hepburn. What a great film!

If you haven't checked out Turner Classic Movies website, you should!

Every couple of weeks I go through my online cable guide to see what is showing soon on TCM. I set my DVR to record whatever films catch my eye. Most of the movies I watch are the oldies :thumbsup2. TCM has been my favorite movie channel for years . I'll have to check out their website.

This is a classic...it goes down as the worst movie of all time...Plan 9 From Outer Space. It is so bad that it is almost good. We watched it in film class!

It pains me to say that I have seen that film. I agree. It is so bad, it is almost funny.

Love TCM and AMC - especially when they're running musicals from the 30s/40s/50s and Doris Day marathons!

I'm into this also. :)

I love older movies. I love the sets, the clothes, the hair, the makeup. I was just born at the wrong time, I tell ya!

I have a couple on TIVO awaiting me from TCM and I have "The Thrill of it All" from netflix.

netflix might be something for you to lok into also, Peg.
