We arrived at CBR this past Friday night around 8pm for a spur of the moment trip. We (me, my husband, and 2 children) had not eaten dinner yet when we arrived. We had originally planned to go to Downtown Disney for dinner, but Epcot had extra magic hours until midnight and I noticed on our check-in information packet that "some of the restaurants in Epcot are open during EMH". So I called Disney dining from the room and they told me that the restaurants in Mexico, France, & Japan were open. I asked if there were any available reservations and I was told they had one for 10pm in Mexico. I made the reservation and we headed for the park. We arrived at 2 minutes past 10pm (we were fighting the exiting crowds) and when we arrived at the podium, we were told that they were closed. I told the hostess that we had reservations, but she told me that the last seating was at 9:45 and that the kitchen was closed and so she could not seat us.
Now, I understand that they can't seat us if the kitchen is closed, but why would they give me a 10pm reservation if the last seating is at 9:45?? I was so upset because we fought the exiting crowds and practically ran to the restaurant to make the "reservation" only to be turned away. We were so hungry at that point, I didn't even feel like going to guest relations to argue. Luckily there was a counter service open in Future World that served what looked to be tofu burgers (they were not good) and cold chicken nuggets for the kids. If I had known that we were going to be turned away, I would have gone to Downtown Disney and had a nice dinner at Fulton's. But, by the time we got there and were told we couldn't be seated, it was too late to go somewhere else.
We are annual pass holders, so we go over to the parks quite a bit...sometimes just for dinner. This is the first time I have EVER had a problem with a reservation. Will it do any good to complain at this point? Or should I just let it go? If I do complain, does anyone have an address or phone number?
Thanks!
