I was reading a trip report where someone requested turndown service at the WL. She said it was free and it seemed really nice. Chocolates and such. But from what I can find online it is only available on concierge level, even though the trip report writer was not staying in concierge. Anyone know?

It is generally available at all deluxe resorts by request, only automatic on CL, and I beleive at the GF it's automatic for all rooms as well.

We stayed at WL a couple of years ago in a standard view room. I called and requested turn down service the first day we were there, and they did do it every night. The kids would race back to the room to get the chocolates.

It's really nice to come home to after an evening out. Since we always end up messing up the room after it's been made up the first time, it's nice to have the beds turned down, fresh towels and they even empty the wastebasket.I usually leave a $2-3 tip.

We stayed in a woods view room, non-concierge, at the WL last month. We are very fond of turndown service. :) We called housekeeping the day we got there, and they came every night, and we never had to ask again. (When at the Poly we had to remind them, even though we were in concierge). As Susy mentioned above, we left $3 per night. Enjoy!

Is this in addition to the daily tip you leave for mousekeeping when they make up your room? Is it usually the same person?

I love the turndown service. It's nice to come back after a long day and the curtains have been closed for me and at least I don't walk into a dark room as they leave a light on. They turn down the bed and leave chocolates on your pillow and at the Swan they leave you a postcard with the predicted weather for the next day. I just love being pampered on my vacation!!!
