50 years ago today on June 24,1974,the iconic song "Sweet Home Alabama" was released!
There is just something about that song that has caught on all around the World.
When we meet Guests from other Countries at WDW,we sometimes will ask if they have heard "Sweet Home Alabama " and,almost always,they will say yes and will start singing it.
A little SWA trivia-Ronnie van Zant got the inspiration for the title of the song from the Leon Russell song "Home Sweet Oklahoma".
Without that song by Leon,Ronnie may have still written a song about Alabama, but it
wouldn't have been "Sweet Home Alabama ".
