I know most people tip mousekeeping for the daily cleaning service they provide. But I was wondering do you also tip mousekeeping for the turn down service they provide? And if you do, how much?

Welcome to the DIS, Jasminetigger!

If I get turndown service, I usually tip $1 per night.

That depends on whether the maid has changed her gloves from her last turn down. But since my comforter is burried in the corner there isn't much to turn down, besides my personal germ-guard bag.

Silly question, perhaps, but HOW do you tip for Turndown Service? Hand it to the Mousekeeper, if you are there, add it to your daily tip - with or without and explaination? Thanks

When we are at a deluxe where I know we will have turn down service, I leave an envelope with $5 on the pillow when we go back to freshen up in the afternoon. That way if we do not return before turn service I know they will find it. So far it has worked out very well. :flower:

just a weird thing i noticed about tipping mousekeeping during our last trip - the first day i left $2 in an envelope marked MOUSEKEEPING on the table in the room, and it was gone when we returned from the park. but the next day I did the same thing, and the envelope was still there when we returned that night :confused3 i have no idea why they didn't take their tip.

I had the same thing happen on our last trip. One day they took the tip and another they didn't. A few of the days Mousekeeping left Thank you notes. Every day they did something special with our room. I am a neat freak so every day I would clean up and empty all the trash cans and replace the bags if the can had extras in it. I would make the beds and clean up all of the mess we made the night before. There is six of us and I always feel bad about how much of a mess we can make out of two rooms. We had a great stay. I can not wait to go back this summer!

I tip $2-5 for turn down, depending on the resort (some have a higher level of turndown service than others), if we need fresh towels, and how many of us are in the room (how many bed need to be turned down).
