Turkey Day Gang 2009

Morning everyone!

The kids thread is getting more and more active every day. Andrew has enjoyed getting to know some of the kids and looks forward to meeting others.

Chun, sorry to hear about your Palo brunch. I hope that can be fixed.

Has anyone every done Magens' Bay on their own -- not through the ship? I'm looking for tips!

Thanks,

Karen

Karen -- first thing I noticed is your ticker - just something about the first part saying "2 months" gets me excited.

Can't help you on Magen's Bay except that I've heard it's beautiful from family/friends who have been there.

Question for those of you who tried to fax authorization for the kids thread -- did you ever get the right fax #? If so - can you post it? Thanks. Joey has signed up and I need to remind him to get back online for it. Daniel is looking forward to posting and I guess I'll just let him post under my name for now.

Chun, check the site now. I just checked to make sure my ressies were still there because of what you wrote made me nervous. I noticed that the Palo brunch isn't grayed out. I assume from that, that you are still able to make ressies for it. Hope you get it in time!!!

It is easy just get off the ship and head to the taxi stand and tell them "Megans Bay" The ride for 3 of us was maybe $18 and $ 4 for entrance to Magans Bay:thumbsup2

Thanks Charlie.

I logged in just now and it's grayed out again. Also got a reply from DCL saying I'm SOL. I did book a dinner just in case. At this point we probably will visit Rocking Bar D and try our luck. As I said before, we had been on waiting list for Palo brunch in previous cruises and were always able to get in. Since we did it already, I'm not too upset even if we miss one this time. Besides, can't really complain much when we'll be on the happiest boat on earth.

And DM absolutely love the Chocolate Souffle which I guess they only serve at dinner. She's not too upset either.

Wow - I just hit 79 days and 17 hours till I depart -

IT IS GETTING CLOSER AND CLOSER AND CLOSER!!!

It is hard to believe that summer is almost over - I am hoping for an Indian Summer for some more boating!

The economy is hitting hard in my small town - It is very scary with job security and all that - and college next year for DD - ugh -- I am tickled pink about my vacation but scared silly about work and all that.. DD is now working 2 hours a day and so far she likes it - she starts school on Tuesday the 1st...

She is really hoping that the Stack has some kids her age there - since her cousins are not coming :(

hope all are having a good week --

ttfn

First day of school here in WV. It was a good first day. We used to always start after Labor Day, but with all the snow days last year we had to add 7 extra days...

Looking forward starting our Cruise countdown. In our house we start the countdown at 60 days....

Hope all is well with everyone.

So excited...I just signed up our room (DH, DS 5, and myself) for the FE list, and I may convince my mom to sign up their room (DGM and DGD):yay:

Sherry-
glad to hear you're participating.

Question for you repeat cruisers - what is the onboard rebooking incentive? Just wondering. I doubt DH will go for it, but, you never know after he is onboard for a few days.

Ok, help, help, help Please :confused3

3. Anyone ever DONE the 12 meter regatta? I see some folks who have signed up for it. I emailed the company about booking directly with them because they offer a kid/teen rate of $45 instead of the full DCL rate.

We did the 12 meter regatta last year. It was a lot of fun!! We booked again this year.

I believe it was 10% off and $200 stateroom credit.

. . . or $100 credit on a 3/4 night cruise. We usually book a 3 or 4 nighter onboard since the deposit is lower. Then later, we transfer the discount to whichever cruise we really want to take. Its a good idea to reserve onboard if you THINK you might want to take another cruise. You can always cancel later with no penalty if you change your mind.

Hi guys,
I just added eeyoremommy to the fish extender list. Hiya!

Since the list is getting so long I've started adding new people to the top so they are easier to find.

OK i just caught up on the last 6 pages...it looks like Lisa answered most of the questions last night....

As to the dinner link, the current list is posted on page 120 and I added Chun's family to the list...
