Turkey Day Gang 2009

Given that Lampy posted the pics on 12-8-07 w/the comment "8 days ago", which would be Nov 30, 2007, I'd say those are from Castaway Cay since that is where the boat would have been on Nov 30. Also, that looks like CC to me, although I could be mistaken.

Not to mention that the server has a Disney name tag on his shirt:thumbsup2

It was to windy to sail:confused3 to the other island so we went to a beach on the Dutch side:scared1:

Wise guys!!!

This is the beach I meant to ask about. Do you know the name of the beach? Am guessing this is St Maarten? That is, unless CC now has a Dutch province. :rotfl:

Given we have almost two years to go, we will unfortunately see page 2 a few times, but hopefully never page 3..:)

well most of us are DAILY / HOURLY viewers so we just have to keep it to the top! eheheh

Right now I am posting this - dreaming of our Tday in the Sun - while there is a BLIZZARD outside...and I sadly have to go out - the local radio station is doing a childrens christmas auction - DH / DD and I have been working there every night this week - tonite was going to be our night off - but they fear NO one will show - so they want all the LOCAL people to come in - just in case!!

brrrr

Hello Everyone....

Just checking in... Busy over last few days traveling... Settled down until Christmas....

Wendy

We're possibly getting ready to book for 2009 as well for our first cruise. Is Thanksgiving a good time for our first Disney cruise? Is it too crowded -- Or, are we better off going another time of year - it would be August. I just need to convince DH - and he definitely does not understand why in the world you would need to make ressies 2 yrs ahead of a vacation. He's more the type of making ressies right before you go.

All of you seemed to have had a GREAT time!

T-Day cruises are always sell outs and the Cat7-12 go real fast. Even though it is a sell out it does not feel crowded, we have done 2 of these and are booked for 2009. Just for fun check out what is left for the 2008 cruise and check the prices, this will give you a good idea why to book early.

Rob

Hi Sherrie,

We went on the Turkey Day 07. The boat was completely full but it never felt too crowded...except when you were looking for a lounge chair in the sun on a sea day.

Having never cruised in August...but having been to the Caribbean in August, you couldn't pay me enough to go there again in August...very hot, humid and it's no fun worrying about a hurricane and the impact it will have on your trip.

As for planning so far in advance...with holiday cruises, it is a necessity (and the rates only go up)!

Rob gave good advice.

Karen

We have done Turkey day for past 4 years and will be back in 2009...we are doing spring break 2008...Turkey day is great time of year to go.

One BIG problem with August, especially late August, is that it is Hurricane season and anything can happen.

Chuck:cool1:

One more thing...unlike other cruise lines where prices may go down just before sailing, Disney prices tend to go up, the only exception being Florida resident specials if boat is too empty, which wont be the case for T-Day.

Have not talked to anyone to much since we got back. Remember I got sick on the cruise. Well when we got home we didn't get settled in before I had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital for emergency surgery. Brad was out of town so it was a challange to get the kids taken care of. I got out of the hospital last week and I am doing better. Now as far as Christmas I have not started. But you can only do what you can do. We are signed up for the Turkey Day 09 also. We booked that last year but I think that Nikki will be in Washington so we might be giving up our two rooms.
We miss you guys. We had a great time. In fact I told Brad because I missed so much of the cruise he had to take me again soon. I moved the onboard booking to the March 29 08 but I have to wait to see if Brad is in court so we can go. I still want a turkey shirt even if I can't be there with you guys. Lynn:banana:

We are also on the March 29 2008 spring break boat and i had better not be in court that week....:) LOL

Lynn, I'm glad to see that you are out of the hospital. How are you doing now? Obviously you're looking forward to better days with a spring break booking. We will certainly miss you guys for Thanksgiving.:sad1: (Nothing's definite yet though?)

I hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas.:santa: We so much enjoyed our dinners with you!

(That'll be fun to cruise again with Chuck and Lisa!:thumbsup2 )

BTW Lisa and Chuck, did Suzanne rebook the Thanksgiving 09 too?:)

Priscilla

Hi Priscilla-

Nope, Suzanne didn't rebook on board. She needed to wait and see what her schedule will be. Hopefully, she will decide to join us!! :thumbsup2

I hope she does rebook. I really enjoyed visiting with you and her on Castaway Cay. It seems that just when one is starting to get to know someone, the trip is over!

My DB called from MCO a while ago. (While waiting for his flight. They just disembarked.)

Well, it worked! They 'had a blast,' and rebooked for Turkey Day 09! He was really happy with the fact that they're able to book connecting Cat9s for about the same price as a Cat4 (which is what they had this time) and get a 400.00 credit! So, (as of now) it will be:

Matt - (don't know if he wants me to disclose his age:lmao: )
Angie -
Matthew - 12
Manton - 11
Hannah - 8 (she'll be two weeks shy of turning 8)

Matt said that Tropical Storm Olga was so horrendous Monday night, that at that point, he thought there was no way they'd cruise again. However, the rest of the sailing was good, and that Hannah cried last night and this morning when the cruise was over. He said her reactions to everything were, ALONE, worth the price of the entire cruise. Also, their server at Palo was Tony from Spain, and that he 'gave me indigestion' because he kept bringing food!:rotfl2:

Rob's on his way now to pick them up at the airport, so we'll see them soon. I'm going to tell his kids, 'Okay, I want to hear ALL ABOUT IT!' (I love kids' first reactions to Disney cruises!)

Priscilla

Does anyone use travel agencies to book your Dis cruises? I transferred my reservation over to Dreams Unlimited since they were offering some stateroom credits. You can get a $200 credit (in addition to the $200 you might already have by booking onboard) for stateroooms 7+ and $100 for categories 8-11. Are there other TA's out there that have better offers?

Jodie

Hello all
since we are going to spring this on our teens on Christmas morning I wanted to do something that was more FUN for them. So I went to puzzlemaker and created a puzzle that once they solve all the lines each line holds a letter to the final puzzle - it is called a double puzzle - so I used phrases like - summer winter fall spring college school dance soccer computer --- once they solve all those then they have to unscramble the CIRLCED letters to find the line
DISNEY CRUISE PART TWO HERE WE COME AGAIN!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
