Just booked our February trip!! Hooray. We are staying at SSR. On our arrival night I would like to eat at the Turf Club. Are reservations necessary? I ask because if there is a flight delay or anything I do not want to be stuck with the cancellation fee. Thank you!

I usually just book a day-of ADR when I go there. Maybe check when your plane lands? I have also just gone without an ADR. If you can't get in for some reason, head over to Disney Springs or do the in-room dining. I actually did that twice a few weeks ago - pizza and a salad one night and chicken parm another. Prices are reasonable and it was a nice chance to just relax in the room.

We always book ADRs for places we know we want to eat. On our arrival day, we generally book our evening meal a little later than usual in case we have unexpected delays.

Reservations are always recommended to ensure a spot but I will say that we have successfully walked in as a party of 2 multiple times at the Turf Club and have never been turned down.

1) Always nice to make an ADR, but Turf Club is seldom so busy they can't take walk-ins.
2) When there, ask for "Tobi" as your SERVER - she is experienced and very good at customer attention.

NOTE1: The Turf Club is a lounge-eatery inside SSR. It is somewhat small, but is OK because it gets few guests. The dinner entrées are SMALL, SMALL, and overpriced. (C'mon, fried chicken for $25? and we were displeased with the rubber chicken.) While working at SSR I was part of the pre-opening tasting and most of us were not happy about the offerings - our opinions have been right on ever since. We prefer to make a meal of the appys and desserts, which are quite good and nicely priced, but for TRUE cheesecake aficionados, skip the cheese cake as Sara cheesecake or Jello cheesecake is better. When you go, make certain you ask for Tobi (SERVER) as she is pleasant and attentive to the guest's needs.
.
NOTE2: The portions are small. Repeat, SMALL, even called minuscule. If you have a big-eater in the group, eat before your meal or stop at Artist Palette quick service when you leave. Of course, you can always fill up on the yummy rolls with the Hawaiian Sea Salt Sprinkles.
.
NOTE3: Although we think the Lamb is the star of the entrée menu, the New York Strip is very good. We decided to change things a little. We ordered the potato gnocchi instead of the fries. The steak came with a side ramekins of Hollandaise, but the sauce from the gnocchi was even better as a dipping sauce for the beef. Next visit, we will order a side ramekin of the gnocchi sauce instead of the Hollandaise.
