Hey Everyone,

I have a quick question. If my college doesn't go through one of the Disney affiliates, would I have to? Like would I be able to go through any of the Disney College affiliates? Would I have to pay tuition (for the classes) from my college or the one on the affiliates list? Thanks for your help.

It all depends on the school. Your best bet is to find a campus rep at your school who knows how it works at your school.

Here is how it worked at mine:

-When I went to the registrar I was told I would have to drop out and re-enroll, that they would not give credit for the program. I found out from a campus rep that this wsa not true. MOst schools allow students to set up their own internships. Find a professor willing to sponsor you, and then you will get full semester credit.

-My school would not give credit for the classes at all. Disney will give you a list of schools that will, but my school would not even accept it as transfer from another institution.

So talk to your advisor and see if Disney can put you into contact with a rep or another person from your school who has done your program. They may even have a faculty advisor on campus who works with the program (mine did).

At my school you have to go through career services because they are the ones who know everything about the program and set up the interest meeting and everything. One of the career counselors emailed me and told me that I needed to register for a CO-OP class if I wanted to stay enrolled at my school. I get one credit for that I don't think my school takes the Disney classes for credit hours either unless it has to do with your major and mine is English so they probably won't take the hours. Since I had to enroll in the CO-OP program I have to keep a journal and everything while I'm at Disney. I agree with Eeyores Butterfly, you should talk with your advisor or even the career people and see what they say! Good Luck!:)

I'm not sure what to do. Not a lot of students at my college did the program, and we don't have a campus rep. I don't know a lot of information. The people at my college aren't sure what to do and I emailed Disney and I keep getting the same message every time. If I leave for a semester, would it change financial aid? I would want to take like 6 gen eds classes while I am at Disney and 6 Disney classes so I can have 12 credits. I don't believe I can get it as an internship because it has nothing to do with my major/minor. What is a Co-op? If anyone can clear this up, I'll appreciate it very much.

If anyone is a campus rep please reply. I really want to do this program, I just have to make sure everything works out.

:cool2:I ended up having to take 4 online classes to get my 12 credits for the semester so it won't effect my financial aid (can't afford to lose it). I can't get intership credit for it because it doesn't apply to my CS major. Just gotta roll with the punches.

I get 6 credits for the program, and there are a list of classes that my school will accept credit for, so I'm taking one of those. The way my school use to do it was that we did paperwork after the semester was over to get the 6 credits added. I however need to stay enrolled at least part-time for financial aid reasons, so I might need to take 2 online courses while down there, but I find out for sure on Tuesday.

I was considering not doing the program, but this opportunity is too big to pass up and I worked too long to get back in, so I'm not letting 2 online courses scare me away, even though I hate online courses lol.

Thanks everyone for your help! I was considering not doing the program either, but I don't want to miss out on it, so I'm definitely going to do it! :)

Are there any campus reps available to message me?

I know with my school I would not lose the finanical aid (pell grants and scholarship) instead it would be available for me to use in the Summer, so I am going down this Fall will come back and do 2010 Spring and Summer classes. Also my school allows you to take a semester off once a year. I could have take a disney class while down there and get credit for it but it would cost me $3000-ish for the 3 credit hours I would earn; so I decied against that routine for me.

I would check with your finanical aid department and see if your aid would roll over into the summer.
