For those of you who have had or are planning for a Tuesday wedding, I was just curious if you mind sharing what your schedule was like.

What days did you/guests arrive? Did you have pre-wedding day events or post-wedding day events? Also, how did your guests react to a [somewhat] random Tuesday?

Any advice would be helpful! My ideal date falls on a Tuesday, and I'm a little strange, so I'm more concerned about the date than the day of the week, I just want to know how to make it like a mini-vacation since they'll likely be taking time off work and things to attend on a Tuesday.

Thanks in advance. :goodvibes

EDITED TO ADD: It will be a Tuesday in December, so if there are any Holiday events or things that are relevant, please advise. =)

Our wedding is a Tuesday in August. I was initially planning for a Monday but DFBIL and DFSIL's anniversary was that day. So we moved it a day.

We're staying at Disney for the week and arriving the Saturday before. Most of our guests will probably arrive Sat or Sun.

Sun - Welcome party
Mon - Rehearsal / Rehearsal Dinner
Tues - Wedding

We'll also be making ADR's and going to the parks most days and people are welcome to join us if they'd like or do their own thing. I definitely want them to have time on their own too.

Most people are also staying a week so they don't really care. Other planned to stay a few days anyway so would have taken 2-3 days off from work anyway.

We chose a weekday for a few reasons:

1) Disney's minimums are lower, while we'll definitely be over the minimum, I didn't want to be locked into spending more.

2) Some outside vendors offer weekday discounts

3) It's Disney, so day of the week doesn't really matter as much. Most people are taking time off anyway.

4) I wanted a few days before the wedding and I like to start trips on Saturdays. May be silly but I'm the bride. ;)

Thanks! That sounds like a great schedule... and I agree, there are so many benefits (besides my wacky "date" issue) to having a weekday wedding!

What Tuesday? We're trying for the 14th!

We're going to try on Saturday so we can do little last minute things (like anything having to do with the favors, welcome baskets etc.) We were thinking about asking everyone to try for the day before but I may even go two days before because it is December and all of a sudden we have another winter storm.

We had a Monday wedding. The bulk of our guests arrived on Saturday and enjoyed a nice long weekend. Many made vacations out of our wedding and stayed the majority of the week. Due to our budget we did not have a welcome dinner or really any other events. Our guests were able to spend their time as they pleased, which suited them just fine. We did however have the rehearsal on Sunday morning, with a rehearsal dinner (bridal party, inlaws, my parents, and grandparents) in the afternoon.

We had Tuesday too. Most people traveled on Sunday or Monday (cheaper airfare) and left either Wednesday or Friday (again, airfare). I didn't hear any complaints about it being the middle of the week and it worked out really well for us. We went in to a park on Monday, but still got phone calls and other things done that day. Ours was December 29, so most people were off that week anyway. I just wish it wasn't so expensive to travel then!

For those who answered, how many people attended [will attend] your weddings?

Hey I am getting Married in July and we just booked our flights as well as many of our guests. Booked Southwest seemed to be the cheapest. Most of my guests including us are leaving Friday night and we are coming home Monday but most of teh guests are going home on that Thursday.

We plan on having the guys golf and the girls are going to hang at the pool :thumbsup2

Let me know if you would want any more info! So excited because it is getting close.....7months lol
