i just scored tucker house reservations for 8 am for 35 days from now. I have never eaten there and really don't like buffets but all the reviews are that it is soooo good that one should try. Looking at the menu, yes there are things that do look good. So questions: 1. What time should I try to arrive at the park? 2. I am staying at Wilderness Lodge. What time should I be at the bus? 3. Will I have a better experience than at BoG (which I found too loud, too bland of food, and too confusing to find a table to sit at for a breakfast meal)? Yes I know this is an opinion question and totally up to how I would react but what is your opinion on the food and atmosphere.

Tusker House breakfast is one of my FAVORITE things to do! Good choice. The food, atmosphere/theme, characters, and first jump on Safari make it a win for me.

Take a cab or Uber from Wilderness Lodge, it's just easier and faster. I would be at Bell Services for one by 7:15-20am, depending on the size of your party. (I assume the park opens at 9am that day?)

Then you have a quick security check and are in line for the pre-park opening dining, they let you in and you walk straight back to Africa. Check in at the Tusker House desk and they call you to be seated soon.

Breakfast is a range of international flavors to try and a lot of All-American type things. Krispy Kreme donut holes, eggs, Mickey waffles, meats, sweet breads/muffins, fruit. Lots of "safe" things and some African inspired dishes.

Mickey and the gang are in safari gear, its a lot of fun and I love the decor and theme of the whole restaurant.

Head out of the restaurant just before 9am and go straight to Safari (next to Tusker House) to be one of the first on the ride that day. You can cancel a FP for it if you like this plan.

It's very different than BOG, and you are not rushed, not loud, and nothing is bland -- if those were reasons you didn't like it. Seating is assigned at Tusker House like a traditional table service.

Enjoy!!

Yes park opens at 9. We are a group of 4 but one needs a car seat so probably cab with car seat would be best. Thanks that's a good tip. I know there are cabs there with car seats my one and only time ever going my daughter fell and split her eye open and was taken by ambulance to the hospital, so taxi with car seat drove us back to report. And yes bog was too loud, too bland, and food was cold by the time it was delivered. Reserved seating will work better.

I cant answer most of your questions... BUT I can say that I preferred this to BOG. I loved Tusker house! Had such a blast. The food was awesome. Tons of options, so there is something for everyone. The characters are adorable, and so interactive!!! I would 100% go back, and cant wait to return!

It's TUSKER House.

1. They will start admitting PPO guests around 7:45. Be there before that.

2. Always allow an hour for bus travel. You likely won't need that long, but you could wait as much as 20 minutes if your bus pulled out just before you got to the bus stop. For breakfast, I agree that a taxi or Uber is a lot easier. Probably want to be at the Bell Services kiosk around 7:15.

3. I have no idea.

We ate LUNCH there today, very good...One of the BEST character interactions on property. We saw each character 4-5 times and they stopped each time you wanted them to. We are usually at all of our breakfast locations by 7:30, it takes a little time to check everyone in and check bags, they let us in at the other locations this week at 7:45.

1. 7:30
2. 6:30. Better to take an Uber or cab.
3. No, not in my opinion. We enjoyed BOG. I was disappointed in TH. We had much better character breakfasts at Garden Grill, Cape May, 1900 Park Fare and Ohana.

Tusker House is my favorite character experience on property. I agree with the Safari right after. The animals are most active first thing in the morning when its not yet super hot.

We liked Tusker House, but found it to be super loud. The loudest character meal we had. The food was good and we had great character interaction, so that made it ok :thumbsup2

we have a 10:30AM ADR for November. the kids wanted to do CM again and I said let's try something different. picky eaters in the family so wanted breakfast as everyone will eat regular breakfast stuff. and hoping to try the lunch food if they change over while we are there.
looking forward to this!

1) Yes, Tusker is loud.
2) As with most buffets, louder-is-better for table turnover.
3) Ask for Ryan as your Server when you are at the podium checking-in. (He is THAT good!)

I'll remember to ask for Ryan when we go in November! Thanks!

Tusker House breakfast is delicious! It was the most diverse, with so many wonderful options. I loved the oatmeal with brown sugar and raisins.

It is loud, though...but worth it!

Louder than a BOG morning meal? I mean that library room with the lightening was crazy. I had a headache just being near the room.

I read a blog on one of the Disney planning pages (I want to say Disney food blog, but I've read so many this week it's all run together) of a person who ate around 11 and they had both breakfast and lunch says it was turn over time. So you might get both.

1. Like previous question....louder than BOG at breakfast? 2. Knew there was a reason I didn't like buffets, well and I feel it's a waste of money for me personally. 3. Ryan must remember that thanks.

We like TH. We find the food better than most Character buffets. We find the characters to be pretty much on par with most places. What we do like it that the servers seem to play into the role much better than anywhere on property and the entire staff just seems to do a great job. It IS loud. We find it louder than BOG but its not on purpose loud, just fun, normal loud. I can not stand the noise at
WCC because the staff makes the noise as part of the setting.....nope....not for me. We did an 8:00 when we were staying at the WL. We bussed it and I think we were out there like 6:30 but it was closer to 7:00 when the bus came and it made a couple other breakfast drop offs too. This has been a while so might not be the case now. We were there in time and were let in very shortly after we arrived. While we like the WL, we have never been impressed by the bus service there. Next time we would take a cab.

Not to hijack but do any of you know if the "jungle" juice is left out for the lunch buffet or just breakfast? We have a 10:45 breakfast for our upcoming trip (was planning on doing Safari first thing and then eating) but I'm starting to wonder if that's too late...

In my endless get as many reviews as possible search it seems to be the biggest drink favorite and almost always available. And 10:30 is still sort of breakfast time.
