Tubbi's???

We're Beach Club veterans, now DVC members staying at the Beach Club Villas. There's a 20% DVC discount at Tubbi's but we've never been there. What can we expect?? Is it worth the walk from the Beach Club?

My biggest problem at the Beach Club is a quick breakfast that has plenty of protein and doesn't cost a fortune. Is Tubbi's a better breakfast choice than Yachtsman's Galley?

We like Tubbi's; we've never had breakfast there, but have had lunch & late night snack (after eating a big lunch & being too full for a regular dinner), and they've been fine, along w/being very reasonable. The discount comes in handy, they give for both DC & DVC, and it does add up for a family. The burgers, pizza, soup & sandwiches were good, as were the hot entrees. It's not fine dining, but it's certainly better than fast food! I'd imagine the breakfast would be similar in quality. Oh, and yes we've done the walk from the BCV, the BWV, and the YC & it was worth it.

I'm so glad you asked this, I have been wondering the exact same thing as the BC area doesn't offer much on the quick side. Anyone know if you can get things like eggs and bacon and is it cafeteria style where you order, its made for you and then take it to sit down?

I'd like to know also, Jillpie, if you order what you want, like eggs & bacon, wait for it and then seat yourself....

Is that how the restaurant works?

Also, does Tubbi's get really busy at any particular times of the day with long waits or is it usually a quick in, quick out kind of place?

We love tubbi's. The food is delicious, moderately priced and they are open 24 hours.

The walk really isn't that long and I think it would be worth it.

Webray, is it cafeteria style? Is the food premade or is it made to order, like eggs and bacon etc. ?

Some of the food is ready when you get there...most is cooked upon order. The pizzas/burgers are made when you order them...the roast beef/potatoes were ready when you got there (and many were they good).

The food you order takes no time at all to be get finished...they are very efficient at Tubbi's .

It is kind of like cafeteria style with the option to order as well when you go through the line...but the food is much better than the typical cafeteria I have been in...much better. Everything we had rivaled home made...it was very good.

Webray, thanks a bunch!!! We'll definitely try Tubbi's this summer when we stay at the Beach Club Villas. We'll only have a studio so will be very limited as to what we can cook ourselves.

You are very welcome. We have stayed at the Dolphin many, many times (most recently just a few weeks ago). My daughter and her friends always head straight to tubbi's...hubby and I had never tried it until this last trip. We couldn't believe how good it was.

We will definately eat at Tubbi's again.

I'm glad to hear another vote for Tubbi's! They do bring some cook to order items to your table. My DH will only eat his burgers verrrrrrrryyyyy well done, and when they take his order, they always tell us they'll bring it to the table. They deliver it & are always pleasant about the service. They also have someone going around all the time busing the tables, so the place isn't a mess like some quick bite places where you're supposed to bus your own, and many don't. I'd also recommend their chicken soup; DS, 6, is a soup lover, and he always chows right down on the soups at Tubbi's!

We've stayed at the Dolphin in the past and always went there for a quick snack. They also have "groceries" like snacks, etc.
