TTMM: "Must do" or is it skippable?

We booked a package through DLR, so we have the tickets to ToonTown Morning Madness. It looks cute, however I'm having a hard time fitting it into our schedule. We only have two full days plus 3 half days at DLR, so obviously not much time. The only day we can do TTMM is on the Monday morning, and I had really hoped to do the Fantasyland rides right at park opening that day--and then do the Nemo subs on our one and only MM day. If we do TTMM, we'll probably do the Fantasyland rides on our MM day, and I don't know when we could do the Nemo subs ride without a long wait.

So...for those of you who have gone to the Toontown Morning Madness thingy, is it a "must do"? Or would you have no qualms about skipping it?

I just called my DD6 over to ask her. Here's how the conversation went:

"Remember TTMM? With the dance and they made you an honorary citizen? Did you really love that, and if you got to do it again, would you not want to miss it? Or would you be kind of 'eh'? "

DD6: "Well, kind of in-between, because I couldn't see that good. There was a lot of people there and grownups were standing in front of me [and we were standing up on the bandstand, even. Dad eventually picked her up and held her, though she's close to 60 pounds!]. And it was just some dancing. It was ok. If we got there earlier and got good places up front it would be ok."

I'm looking at the age of your kids, and they're a good age to enjoy it. My DD10 thought it was "lame" and wanted to be elsewhere. That said, it was just a cute little song and dance thingy lasting about 15 minutes, and it was pretty mobbed. Afterward, the characters went over by their houses for picture taking, and the lines for that were huge, long and snaking all over the place. Too long for everybody to get pictures; they had to close the lines down before getting to everybody. We got a picture with Goofy because his was the shortest line.

This was during Spring Break and it was very busy.

In my opinion, I would say you can really skip it. If you have time, go explore ToonTown because it's lots of fun for little ones to just explore, but you don't NEED to do MTTMM, I think.

HTH! :)

Some people really love TTMM, and I think it is a draw because it is not open to everyone. If you didn't need a special ticket to get in, I don't think it would be as populare as it is.

If you do decide to skip it, there is a thread to gift your tickets to someone else OR they have a pretty high resale value on Ebay (usually $10-20 per ticket is the going rate).

It depends on what your goal of attending is. If it is to greet the characters, don't bother, because the lines are huge after the show to see Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Pluto. However, the lines for the rides are shorter while everybody is at the show.

You can see most of these characters throughout the day at other parts of the park or in Toontown with less of a line.

IMO, skip it. We were given passes in the park by a very nice family, but we all agreed after that we felt it was a waste of valuable park time.

In my mind, 2 full days and 3 half days works out to be 3 and 1/2 days. You need 2 full for Disneyland itself and 1 if you want to do everything in DCA. The highlights of DCA will only take half a day, so I think you have time to do TTMM if you want to.

Skippable! And that's even with the fact that we were chosen as ToonTown's "family of the day" during it. (by the way, that really means nothing except we have a cute scroll on it with my last name...honestly these people need to tell people WHY they are asking for your name, so that those of us who do non-American-traditional things with last names can know how to answer the question)

Skip it, have fun, and as soon as you get the vouchers in your hands, make them available to the next person on the thread here dedicated to people who want vouchers but didn't book a package. :)
