TT question - family of five

Okay now I don't feel bad about asking - you never know if you're going to get that random single rider that will do something weird in the photo. But I love the sticker idea!! Thanks all!!

If you get a random single rider that does something weird in the photo that completely ruins it, ask at the end to be put back onto the ride. Now, the weird thing would have to be something outrageous and the chances of that happening are very slim if that single rider is with a family of five and makes no signs of being obnoxious before boarding.

So funny that you mention that. We had photo pass included with our February trip because of our APs. My two boys rode Space Mountain three times during the trip(without me or DH). Two of the three photos have the third rider making silly poses. I am a big scrapbooker and it is driving me crazy.

There is a couple making out in the car with two of our kids in our 7DMT picture from our last trip. It's gross. The world wasn't made for families of 5.

Anyone who cares this much about single riders messing up their photos (and I'm not talking about seating arrangements but the more recent posts) should have the photoshop skills to erase them. I mean, seriously, if having another person in the pictures is THAT big of a deal, just put down the money for the software and use it.

I have an acquaintance who erases EVERYONE else from her photos. I don't understand it at all. If she wants her daughter to think they roamed the earth all alone, once my friend is gone and it's just her daughter, then it makes sense, but it just seems weird and controlling to me. For me, I don't really care who else is in the photo. If it matters, I just wait until the person has moved.

And as a regular single rider line user (at DL more than WDW since WDW has so very few), they will be placed AFTER your family, so just arrange people as you need.

As for not being able to see someone, that can be part of your memories, too. Watching the child grow through the years in TT shots (if you keep buying photopass stuff...I gave that up years ago, what a waste!) could be fun. First the child was invisible and then years from then is towering over dad? Memories.

I like photos that are in context with the actual events; not a whitewashed version.

I don't think anyone said having another person in the photo was a big deal. There are times when the other person does something that is inappropriate in the photo for you. It is annoying, but not the end of the world. That was all that was said. For many people photos are special memories and the photo can be ruined by people doing stupid things in them.

That is not at all the context of the original post.

I wouldn't care if a single rider made a face in our picture, I think it would be funny. But...my kids know where all the cameras are, and have a habit of doing things like talking to their shoe and pretending to sleep, so I can see how that might vex people who want a nice photo. I'd ask the CM to skip the single rider.

I don't think they will skip them. And I would never have the nerve to ask that someone else's wait in line be longer so that my family could be on a ride by themselves. What next? A boat for only one family at Pirates? No one in those pesky adjoining cars on the mine train? We are not vacationing in a bubble at WDW. As has been pointed out, photoshop them out.

As a frequent solo rider, I have sometimes found that other people in the vehicle make weird faces for the photo, which "ruins it" for me. A solo rider is no more likely to make weird faces than a rider in a larger party is. Sometimes two or more people in a larger party, make the same strange face. It seems like they planned it ahead and coordinated it with each other. The solo person, having no one to coordinate this with, may actually be less likely to make a strange face.

The solo rider's trip is just as important to him or her as yours is to you, so it would be nice to treat him/her with the same respect you would like for yourself. If the solo rider can see that you respect their right to enjoy the ride and you don't only view them as an obstruction in the picture, they are more likely to cooperate with what you ask. There are probably many solo riders who would be fine with the seat that you are suggesting.

I like the earlier poster's idea to cover their face with a Disney character in your photo. What fun, to make it look like your favorite Disney character was riding with you.

It's a little harder for the solo person to do this, as that would involve photo-shopping over five faces instead of just one.

I realize that. I was replying to what Bumbershoot said above, not the original post. He/she referenced the "more recent posts" not the original one I was just trying to point out that sometimes silly things bother us, and we talk about it here because others understand, but it doesn't mean we are making a big deal about it. I thought it was funny that it was brought up and I had just recently had something similar happen. Sometimes everyone takes things so seriously because they are reading it instead of hearing it in person. I was just trying to show it isn't really a big deal.

Well OP, I hope you have gotten a good range of answers regarding your concerns. Again, I feel it is perfectly reasonable to make a request regarding seating arrangements.

We typically ask for seating accomodations on various rides, as we are tall. So we will ask to be split between rows, rather than all be squished into one. The CM has never batted an eye at our requests. If the answer was no, we would be prepared to either go with that answer, or leave the ride. So far, it has never been a problem.
