Does anyone know if there is a way to exit TSMM without going on the stairs? I ask because I am waiting from some test results from the dr. It looks like my cancer may be back but in a different area. DD and I are set to take an overnight trip for the halloween party. The treatment makes me tired and winded.

I was wondering if there was a way to exit that ride without having to do the stairs. After waiting in line I will be tired enough without trying to do stairs. DD has her heart set on this trip and I am doing everything possible to make sure it happens to keep things as normal as possible for her.

While we were getting on the ride last week there was a women exiting a head of us. She turned to the CM and asked if she could exit through the entrance because she was unable to climb stairs. The CM had no problem letting her exit that way.

Sorry to hear about your cancer. I hope that everything turns out positive for you.

I hope everything goes well for you. I hope you get well and cured. Enjoy your trip and may you have many many many more trips to DL!

You can always use the disabiliy entrance. Simply talk to the CM out front. To make double sure - stop by guest services and get a pass. You definitely qualify for one!

That is what my cousin said but I will not really be that bad off! I think that is a wonderful program they offer but I would never want to take advantage of the program.

TSMM is the only ride I was concerned about because of the stairs. As long as dd and I take it slowly we should be just fine!

Thanks to everyone for all the kind thoughts!

It is good to know about the disability entrance and the other exit.

Sorry to hear about your condition and I hope that the tests come back ok and show that it has not returned.
As far as your question, like another poster stated they do have the disability exit that you can use.
I would not be to worried about using it and would go ahead and use it if you are tired and can't do the stairs. This way you can save all your energey for more fun time with your daughter and not have to feel so bad while having fun with her.
Wishing you the best and wishing you a magical visit with your daughter to DL :goodvibes

I'm so sorry to hear about this anxious time for you. I think it's very brave of you to continue with plans for your trip. I hope you and your daughter have a wonderful time!

You might consider renting an ECV. I realize that you might feel uncomfortable or think you're not "disabled" enough to warrent its use, but if it would help at all to keep you energetic and enjoying yourself (instead of winded, tired, and pushing yourself for your daughter's sake) then it would really be a blessing for both of you! You might really enjoy your trip more stress free. Just a suggestion.

Hoping that test comes back negative for you--

If you have cancer and get winded I think you DESERVE to take advantage of disability status and using that entrance. As a fellow survivor, I know how hard that battle can be. Go, have a great time, and see if you can qualify for disability and wait in less lines so you can have fun riding more rides with your daughter. I hope it all turns out well for you.

Thanks again for all the kind thoughts!

Since this is not my first time through this process I am bound and determined to keep my life as normal as possible - which includes the trip.

You guys are right that I may need to use an ECV to make this happen! I need to keep my options open.

So far I have been able to keep walking as normal but man stairs get to me. LOL!! :goodvibes

EVC would be good....I hope you are cured.

My thoughts are with you!! My suggestion is to go ahead and get the card, only use it if you need it. :) My hopes are that you won't need it but you do qualify so get one, just in case. Have a Magical trip with your DD!

Does anyone know how to get the card? Do I need to bring someting from my doctor?

No doctors letters needed. Just go to guest services and tell them what you need it for.

I got one on our last trip for our son who has Aspergers. It turned out we did not need it at all (he has a very, very mild case), but we were glad we got it.

Thanks for the information!

God bless and take care.

Enjoy your time in Disneyland. We haven't rode it yet so report back please.

I'm sorry to hear about your health. My mom has gone through chemo and radiation and cancer def takes it's toll.

As for not taking advantage of the program, you're one of the people the program is FOR. If you feel weird about it maybe just get it for such rides?
