we have had a change in plans and are now staying offsite. I am having to change my parks due to EMH's (am) since we won't qualify anymore.

It is a level 1 crowd day, we were thinking of starting at Epcot and hopping over to HS. What do you think a 1-2pm line for TSMM be like.

I have actually never stood in the stand by line for this. Only ridden once and it was with a FP.

Thank you for your replies, I have never seen a level 1 crowd day before that's why I booked it. Thought it would be neat to see it almost empty.

Downside is it will feel hotter than the surface of the sun.

It will still probably have the longest queue in the park. Afternoon will have the longest lines of the day. It's not unusual to see 2 hour waits. On a crowd level 1 day, if such a rarity still exists, count yourself lucky if the ride is only an hour.

When are you going?

I've never been on a level 1 day, so take this with a grain of salt, but general consensus seems to be that a 1 in 2015 isn't the ghost town it used to be. I'm sure crowds will still be very light, but you may want to temper your expectations. I wouldn't expect a near-empty park.

A Level 1 day will mean that non-headliners will be a walk on. Headliners will always still have lines and they will be longest between noon-4 pm.

I've been on many CL 1 days (happens mostly in Sept). And of course a CL 1 in 2015 is more like a CL 5 in 2010. In the last 5 years the economy has improved enough to make Disney have no real "slow" times anymore.

Anyway, waiting in line for TSMM is always like the Hunger Games, even on slow days.

Here's a projection of TSMM wait times on CL 1 day in HS (sept 16, 2015) (this pic is from Len Testa's Lines)

I'd be excited if TSMM had a posted wait time of 30 minutes. You might see that on a Crowd Level 1 day.

I actually like the standby queue for this ride. I don't like the wait...but I like looking at the toy area. Mr Potato is funny.

I think I can help you a little with this scenario. Last year we visited Labor Day and Tuesday and Wednesday after. We had not planned on visiting HS during that short stay. Our crowd levels, were 4,2 and 1 respectively. We basically had little to no waits on Monday and Tuesday that we decided to hit HS on Wednesday before we left for home. On Tuesday night, I went to change all our FP+ and couldn't believe that I was still able to get TSMM the next morning at 11:00. When we arrived at 10:15, the ride was 20 minutes stand by, and we decided to just go ahead and ride it so my kids could then go ride RnR (because that too was walk on). We waited 10 minutes to get on. We went back later before we left the park at 12:30, and the wait was still at 20 minutes. Now, really, I know it just depends upon the day and you are waiting until later in the day to arrive, but that was our experience. Not sure what the waits were like in the late afternoon. You may consider getting your FP+ for HS then you know you'll have the opportunity to ride it. Most likely you will not need the FP+ for your morning park if you arrive at rope drop.
