I am trying to figure out the best way to ride TSM and visit the Toy Story characters across the way in a reasonable amount of time. We will be going in mid-October, so the crowds should be fairly low. Can't decide if we should just get a FP right way at RD and then line-up to meet the characters, OR ride stand-by right away and then visit with the characters.

My only concern is that if we get a FP, that our return time will fall during our lunch reservation. We plan to reserve a character lunch that day and since they will be enforcing the fastpass return times, it wouldn't be good if it fell during lunch.

If we do ride stand-by, which I am assuming should be around a 20 minute wait, how bad will the line be for meeting the characters after we are done?

Anyone have some advice?

Anyone??

I have no clue how fast the line up at the Toy Story meet and greets fill up and am looking for some info from someone who does.

I would get fps then get in line. You can do the characters after or at one of their other times. The wait for them will be somewhat busy, but never as bad as the ever growing times at TSM.

I am hoping that they will still be letting people in before official opening time so that will work to our advantage. I plan to be there 30 minutes before opening so if they let us in at 8:45, then perhaps we could ride TSM stand-by right away and then be in line for the characters when they first show up. I think the Toy Story characters usually start at 9:15? If I could make each wait in line approx. 15-20 minutes max, that would be ideal.
