Ok I just got home from Dinseyland after our 3 hour drive and wanted to give updates on the AP TSMpreview.
Ok so we had planned a little 1 night trip about 4 weeks back and had booked the Embassy suites to go for the night of the 9th.
I found out last week that I had won a preview of TSM for the 9th of June between 10am and 3pm so I decided that I would check and see if there was any rooms available at the Disneyland Hotel because there had not been for days as I had been trying so I could change my ressies. I really anted to stay there with my daughters and there friends #1 to celebrate my B-day and #2 to celebrate my daughters 8th grade graduation. So anyhow when I called about 8pm the day after I found out I won the preview they had an available room standard view at the DLH 2 queens and a day bed, so I booked it at the ap discount rate.
Well when we arrived earl Monday morning found out that I was upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite with a view!!!!! Very exciting and what a B-day gift....I really felt dreamed from the start!!! We dropped our bags and headed into the park for some fun before it was time to check in for TSM (I checked in right at 9:30).
Anyhow TSM IMHO is great and something new. We all really enjoyed it!!! We rode it 4 times in a row and the wait was very short!!! The were being very strict about only letting those on who won so it made for really short lines. They also had no problem with you riding it as many times as you would like as long as it was within your time frame so that was another plus!!!!
I took a bunch of pictures of our trip so I will come back in a bit and post some right here to share with all my fellow DIS lovers.....I just need to go and take a cat nap because I am sooooooooooooooooooo beyond tired right now after all the driving and Disney we did over the past couple days.....so after I awake I will return but I just had to give you all a quick update on TSM and our trip. If you all have any ?????'s post them and I will try to answer all when I come back after my snooze.

Thanks for the report. How cool to be upgraded like that! We're going tomorrow to ride TSM and I'm glad to hear the lines were fairly short and you got to ride more than once. Hope we have the same luck!

How'd you get to ride more than once? I was there MOn morning as well- got on the ride about 11:30am ish and we were told we could only ride once. A CM even punched my cards to show I'd been through the line once

I was there Monday morning too, and had no trouble riding multiple times. In fact the CM's began greeting me by name (since you had to show your AP with your name and picture). Sorry you didn't get to ride more. It was fun seeing my score improve with each ride through.

I am so sorry a CM did not let you go back through!!! A bit shocked as well.
I did not have any problems at all going on over and over. I was told right at the start that we could go as many times as we wanted during our time frame. They also punched my card the first time in but told me that would have no effect on me getting back through over and over and that all they had to do was punch it once. The CM's also got to know me and my group as well and always had some kind or funny remark as we got back in line.....like ahhhh back for more.

As you can see I am awake now but have not uploaded the pics yet. I will get to that asap and then post a few here.

I was able to ride TSM tonight (Tues) and were told we could ride it as many times as we want also. We received 2 hole punches in our pass, but not a 3rd.

We rode it twice, and while in line for the 3rd time around, everyone was asked to leave the queue since the ride experienced difficulties and was shutdown :headache: From my two rides, it was very fun and challenging. Like nemo, I'm not sure a 2 hr wait will be worth it, but it really is a different concept from anything in DL so far.

OP: Glad you had a wonderful time!
KelsiesMommy: Sorry to hear about only getting to ride it once. I wonder if it was due to it being overcrowded, or maybe policy about multiple rides not being established yet.

Is it true that this ride won't have fastpasses? We're going to be there on June 24-27 and I'm very afraid what the lines will be like for this ride, although, we really have no choice but to wait.....:worried:

As far as I know, NO fastpassses. I'm not sure why. The ride does load fairly quickly.

I just don't understand why they don't have fastpasses on the new rides, it really just doesn't make any sense to me. I love DL always have but the crowds are out of control especially in the summer, and I just don't understand why the imagineers don't try to make things more pleasant by trying to avoid long lines.

Yep you are correct there will be no fast passes for TSM. I spoke directly to a CM about this and he basically told me that they are expecting very large crowds for this ride so they have the line qued to go all the way from TSM back to Ariel's Grotto!!!!:scared1:

The lines will be insaine when it opens!!!

The lines did move quick when we previewed it but I am not real sure what that means seeing as how they were very short to begin with:confused3

My guess based on how the ride works is that once the crowds arrive the line will move much slower....sad to say but I really do predict that because when you are on the ride you stop many times to play the games so it is a stop and go sort of ride and any time that you do not have something moving continuos it is bound to take some time.

I also do not understand why Disney does not just put FP for all newly constructed rides. Kind of makes it a little hard to go on because I would imagine that once TSM opens 6/17/2008 that lines will be 2 hour waits or more.....a bit sad to pay so much $$$$$ to get into a park and spend a good chunck of your day waiting to ride only 1 ride.

Anyhow just thought I would share what I found out by speaking to a CM. Hope this helps.

Oh and some pictures today I promise......now that I have had a good nights sleep.:)

Are the AP Previews still through Friday?

Reason I ask... my bf is in school Mon-Thur so we didn't even enter for the contest since we knew we couldn't go. Now, we're going to go on a total impulse trip Thur night through Sat AM. I wonder what our chances would be if we just showed up over there and looked pathetic ;)

Actually, from reading about some of the trouble that WDW has been having with the FP lines, it might not be such a bad thing that TSMM at DL doesn't have FP. Of course, we'll have to wait and see.

went on the preview yesterday (rode twice)--very fun ride! The only complaint--we had two handicapped people in our group (me and a friend whose son is in a wheelchair) and the accessibility on this ride is terrible. First you have to stand in the regular line, then just as everyone else is able to get on the ride you get shuttled to a handicapped line. We waited an additional 25 minutes after waiting 15 minutes in the regular line. on our second ride (my friend's son didn't go) we took the regular line and got on in under 10 minutes.

the other issue is that even if someone is able to walk, if they cannot do stairs then they have to go in the handicapped line because the exit from the regular line takes you up one flight of stairs and down two flights. so, for someone like me--who otherwise could walk through the regular line, if it is one of those days that I am not up to stairs I will have to be relegated to the handicapped line. (as it was--it was a slow walk up and down for me) which means that the handicapped line will be even longer with people who otherwise could have gone in the regular line--just because the exit is not accessible. does Disney not consult with handicapped experts when they build these rides? this would have been so easy to avoid--at the least they should have down a moving ramp like on Haunted Mansion--rather than stairs.

otherwise, a very well executed ride and a great addition to DCA!

I agree!!! I wondered some of the same things as we too had a handicap person with us and got seperated from our party and had to wait a bit longer when shuffled over to the handicap entrance. I do feel they should have put a bit more thought into what those who have a handicap would have to go through just to enjoy the ride.

:offtopic:
How do I post these pics???? I could not figure it out for the life of me yesterday????

We did it yesterday as well! Loved it! We were able to ride it 7 times from about 1:30ish to 3:30. After we rode it 5 times before 3 we took a restroom break. Then I asked DD8 if she wanted to try to ride it again (it was just after 3) She said okay and so I asked the CM at the start of the line if they were enforcing the time frame. She asked what time we had, 10-3. She said they were letting 3:00 ride until 4:00! Cool :cool1: So we rode it 2 more times, this time with no line, at all!

When we got in line at 1:30 the wait wasn't bad at all. As it got closer to 3, the line got longer, but still not bad.

You might wonder why we started riding it so late-'Cause I'm stupid that's why! We got there at 10, did Disney Meet 'n Greet, got FP for Screamin' and then went over to ride TSM. The line was pretty long (11 a.m.) at that time and I realized, by re-reading my email, that I needed to get our tix at the booth, outside the park! Yikes, color me dumb! So we left DCA and went and got our tix. Be then, the security line to get back in was huge (not enough lines :confused3 ). Since it was 11:30ish we decided to eat lunch at Jazz Express and then rode the monorail (got the front) from DTD to TL. Grabbed FP for Space (6:50-7:50 return!) got a picture (enhanced) battling Darth Vadar, rode the trolley, crossed back over to DCA, and finally made it back to TSM. By then it was almost 1:30.

Hey everyone. I will be going to ride TSM on the 22 and I was wondering if it is wheelchair accesable like buzzlightyear? My cousin is in a wheelchair and it would make it so much easier if he could ride in the chair instead of having to get out.

Looks like most people are discussing the ride here... So I'll post my pics again, haha...

Just thought I would share these. I got to ride yesterday!

As far as the wheelchair. I did see one car that looked like it didn't have the seats in it. I'm not sure, but that may have been a wheelchair car...

To answer your question yes they do have a car that you can stay seated in your wheel chair if need be. They will ask you if you need that car or if you think you can transfer????

Have a blast!!!
