So we have our TSA precheck interview tomorrow. My husband selected his birth certificate as one of his documents to bring. I do not know why, because he does not have a copy of his birth certificate.

Is there any possible way to change the documents he's going to bring or just show up with something else? I know this isn't strictly Disney but I'm desperate ya'll.

You probably can get an answer by contacting them, before the appointment. Other acceptable document would be valid passport or enhanced driver’s license.

If you have questions concerning your TSA PreCheck® status, call the TSA Contact Center at (866) 289-9673, submit an online form, or contact us at @AskTSA on Twitter and Facebook Messenger.

That might be up to the interviewer if they take the passport even though he put down BC. You need of the two. So have him take his passport.

Just show up with it and anything else you might have. I did mine a while ago but I brought more documents than needed.

You have to meet certain positive ID requirements. Which specific documents you use should not matter -- they just want to be sure that you are you.

It might be to late, but you can order a Birth certificate online with a very rapid turn around. I've used them and was happy with the result. Of course later found my original BC.

We did ours in late December (MI) and we only needed our Enhanced Driver's Licenses. On the website it said I would need my EDL, birth certificate and marriage license. I thought it was odd because I had to provide this documentation for the EDL. I had all of the documents and the individual who processed us told me to put it away--that was why EDL's were issued, no need to verify the documentation again. Took all of 15 minutes for my husband and I.

UPDATE!!!

It was fine. The agent showed up 15 minutes past the end of lunch hour, which delayed everyone, but other than that it didn't matter that he didn't bring the listed documents. The agent happily took the other documents we brought instead. Thanks everyone!
Thanks for reporting back. Most of the time, posters leave us hanging. Glad it went well.

I wanted to make sure anyone else who came across this wasn't desperately googling like me 😂

For anyone who has wondered this too: he legally changed his name several years ago, and even though not all of his documentation has been updated with his new name, it was fine so long as he brought the court documents related to the name change. So good to know for anyone recently going through a name change and hasn't updated their passport or something.

I had brought my birth certificate, marriage license and passport. All they asked to see was my passport. I hadn't told them I was bringing it but that's what the person asked for

The reason is you’ve already brought all that stuff for your passport. That’s why it can replace multiple documents

Same way a marriage license (basically a legal document) can suffice to show a married person’s name change. Legal documents are always needed to show a name change. Once you have those, it’s much easier.

Yes, but it was weirdly unclear in their FAQ if it was accepted for reasons other than divorce/marriage, so we weren't 100% sure until we got there
