TSA mess and the police

I don't think that is what most people look like on there. But I suppose that is why the image was selected. I've seen more detailed images of people, I think this image was selected to be tasteful and non offensive. .

Yes - More like this....which is a picture of a TSA looking at the image screen itself. This picture of a picture, is clearer than that other image. What could you possibly see, in *that* image??? Nothing.

Therefore you are not "saving" your snowflake from anything.
.

That "snowflake"" is her child! I don't have snowflakes - far from it, and I'm not okay with them either having 'nude pictures' taken of them, or have their body groped!

One is 19 - so I have no choice in the matter - but I can't say it doesnt bother me. The other one... 15, and it also bothers me, tremendously!

How about a new line of T Shirts? I'd like one that says, "I wonder what number SPF would be appropriate?" on the front and, "No means No!" on the back, just kidding but I'm sure someone somewhere right now is busy cranking out slogans and t-shirts. I bet some new slogan shirts will be in the streets of NYC by the end of the week and in places like Hot Topic and Spencers by December.

They do - I posed a ways back. They appear plain, until they get into the scanner.

Lemme look for the link....

Okay - found it...

These all appear plain (I think the image is on the inside?) But the print is in Metallic - so it shows up nice and clear:

ETA - Looks like a lot of ppl are jumping on the band wagon. It had only been a few rows of image choices, just a few days ago (from the 'peppers' down)

Anyone you look at it, that is one buck nekkid person. The only people who get to see me that way either went through medical school and I allow them to do so, or had to put a wedding ring on my finger. As for the "enhanced pat downs" (nothing is enhanced for me) that's not too far off high school groping. My DH has kindly offered to pat me down for the TSA agent, but I told him I didn't think they'd go for that.

I'm P.O.d enough about being stuck with either the naked body scanner or being felt up. But I *&%^ sure do not want anyone's hands on my little girl. Period. I bought tickets for our upcoming Thanksgiving trip before the pat downs changed. We had already decided to drive to WDW for Christmas. In the past, I have loved flying and despised driving. But now, not only has all the fun been sucked out of flying, they've made it an assault on my dignity and a potentially traumatizing event for my child. At her age, if I'd had to undergo that pat down, it would have upset me. And if I'd known someone had been seeing me essentially naked.....I'd have croaked.

All to be "safe"? How many terrorists have they caught? Puh-leeze! Look at us, for God's sake. Let us undergo some kind of security check ahead of time. The FBI had already checked us to death multiple times. Instead of terrorizing grannies at the airport, use your noodle and zero in one someone who actually poses a threat. It offends me as an American to be virtually strip searched when there is NO reason to suspect I have done one thing wrong.

People whine, "You don't have to fly." Well, they don't have to go the measures they do either. So I will slow down, or even stop my flying. I'll use up my FF miles on a few big trips and be done with it. I'm done with their illogical power trip. We, the American public, are the ones being treated like terrorists and I am sick to death of it. What's next? I'm afraid to even think about it.

I think that statement says it all. It captures the sentiments of many.

Think of all the wasted money checking people that pose no threat at all, while there are gaping holes in security elsewhere. Highly illogical.

I don't know the answer. But the TSA measures can't be it.

Yikes!!! :eek::eek::eek:

I knew it was only a matter of time before the t-shirts came out... Bumper stickers next - if not already....

The TSA's track record is far from stellar. The federal screening bureaucracy costs 10 times more and employs nearly triple the personnel used when airlines were responsible for securing flights.

GAO studies suggest we are hardly 10 times more secure. In July 2007, GAO investigators successfully smuggled various concealed explosive devices through TSA security checkpoints. Instead of being caught with the contraband, the covert agents were only questioned about bringing an unlabeled bottle of shampoo onto the airplane.

Airline pilots and flight attendants, who pass through this screening on a daily basis, are beginning to push back. "There's a level of anger out there right now amongst the pilots in response to this that I haven't seen since I've been doing this job," American Airlines pilot Sam Mayer, spokesman for the Allied Pilots Association, told The Washington Times. "This is the straw that broke the camel's back. We've taken a lot, and this seems to be the one that's pushed some guys over the edge."

I love the T-Shirts from body scanner attitude, Gandhi would be pleased with the sentiment.

I'd get one if I was going to fly but since not I'll wait for the bumper stickers LOL

I believe the stickers are out, too. :lmao:

I kinda like the "You should be arrested" ones, and the "Moon Shot" shorts.

There's a video (I'd have to Google some more) released by the TSA, which shows it in use. They also have the ability, as they moused over the image, to enlarge it.

It's not that grainy image someone posted. It's a clear crisp - looks like a negative - image.

But many are saying that these are unreliable sources - the airline pilots and flight attendants are basically lying - and not trustworthy.. Yet they have no qualms about getting on an airplane and putting their lives in the hands of people they don't trust to tell the truth..:confused3

Doesn't make an awful lot of sense to me..

I find the T-shirts hilarious, but I would never wear one. The last thing I want is to get someone with complete power over me mad at me. My purpose in an airport is to get to my plane as quickly as possible with the least hassle. I have no desire to tangle with the TSA. In an airport, they win. They have all the power.

Outside of the airport, I have all the power. I will write senators, congressmen, regulators, anyone necessary to get this changed.

For the record, I always objected to the previous procedures because I thought they were useless, but they were just never as much of a hassle as this.

Of course it makes no sense. It's just mass hysteria. ;)

Video with Mouse Over Enlarging:

***removed for "bits*** (at about :26 you can see the mouse overs)

See, this is getting kind of hard to even link to. Some of these images could absolutely be inappropriate for The Dis - it's porn, essentially. Yet these are pictures they're talking of us and our families, every single day.

There's another I can't link to - and it's TSA released. If you poke around, you can find it.

:rotfl: You have to stop. ;)

The link you posted is particularly interesting for the man. You can really see his "bits".

Can you? Great. I just found the mouse-over video and scrolled through it for the time.

Please be careful with what gets posted. It is better to just mention You Tube and provide the title of the link so people can find it on their own if they choose to do so:goodvibes

Well, I'd remove it, but it's quoted.

I'll remove it anyways. *sigh*

I should have scrolled through the whole thing. :headache:

OK, I'll edit my quote for you as well. I still think it was funny. :rotfl:
