TSA and Ice Pack for Prescription

We are heading to WDW on Saturday and my 2 yr old niece may have an ear infection. Meds for ear infection usually need to be refrigerated, what kind of ice pack will TSA allow us to take through security? My sister has a back pack with epi pen, inhaler, nebulizer and asthma meds for her older daughter and it wasn't a problem back in 2009; just had everything in that one bag and told them at the security checkpoint and there was no problem.

Can we use a regular lunch box type ice pack in an insulated bag?

If/when the niece goes in to see her pediatrician let them know you will be traveling while on the med. My daughter had the same thing happen as a baby. The ped gave us a different medicine that, while stronger and not normally the go to for ear infections did not have to be refrigerated. I didn't ask for it, just was letting her know that I brought her in as a precaution since we were getting ready to travel by plane and staying in a hotel.

Some people use a small bag of frozen peas or corn to keep meds & other things cool while flying. Those shouldn't give you any problems getting through security. Obviously, you'd put everything in a plastic bag.

thanks, my sis does tend to overeact about the kids health, but glad she is taking her in to dr today.

An ice pack is fine, but it must be frozen solid to make it through security.
