We are going to be a Disney May 26-June 2 and will be on the DDP. We aren't certain what we'll be doing on Friday June 1 though we'll probably be at MK. We currently have reservations at 'Ohana that day at 5:00. That's our second 'Ohana reservation for the trip. I'm going to keep that for now but if we decide after eating at 'Ohana the first time that we want to try something new, does anyone have any experience/thoughts about trying to have dinner around 5:00 without an ADR at Biergarter, Cape May or Teppan Edo?

Of those 3 Biergarten is far and away the safest bet without an ADR.

But if you're going to be at MK, why go all the way to Epcot to eat? (other than the fact it has all those wonderful restaurants, of course). In the MK area I think you can usually walk up to The Wave in the Contemporary and the GF Cafe in GF. Be a lot easier if you're planning on any evening activities in MK.

Thanks for the info. How is The Wave?

We are staying at Beach Club and may be taking an afternoon break and heading back to the resort depending mainly on how hot/crowded it is, so I figured Epcot might be a good bet if we do. We are planning on attending the dessert party at MK that night (assuming we can get reservations) so will be back at the park at some point.

Oh, my goodness. I don't think it's physically possible to eat dinner at 'Ohana and then go to the Dessert Party (we've been twice and really liked it, btw).

The Wave is more 'sophisticated American' food, I'd say. Kids may not enjoy it so much.

If you go back to the resort during the day, try Captain's Grill instead of the Cape May Seafood buffet. The buffet would be the same problem as 'Ohana - too much food. When we do the Dessert Party we look for a TS meal starting no later than about 3 pm. In fact, the first time we did eat at Biergarten for a 2 pm lunch for a day when Wishes were at 9 pm meaning the Dessert Party started at 8.

We are doing a 5PM dinner because we want to have plenty of time between that and the dessert party (fireworks are at 10PM that night). Thinking about doing a breakfast that day - maybe Cape May character - but not sure we'll be up that early.

Ohana has a great desert and not to be missed, will you be able to eat more desert after Ohana. Sometimes I still full until the next day.

I've always thought that it was a mistake to have any kind of TS dinner if you are planning on the dessert party the same night. There is just too much food at most of the dinners, even at 5:00pm. You're not going to be finished eating till 6 or 6:30. No way you're going to be hungry enough by 9 or 10 to eat all those desserts.

I think it would be a more practical plan to have your TS meal at breakfast or lunch and a very light CS dinner on the night of your dessert party.

Thanks for all the feedback. Now leaning towards may maybe a Cape May character breakfast or Le Cellier lunch.
