When I made may reservations for CRT, I was told a 18% (or 18.5%?) automatic tip would be added because my party size (4 Adults, 2 kids, 2 infants, 2 tables). If the tip is already included in the price, does that me we will be charged the tip twice?

I think the CM was either mis-spoke, or is poorly trained. The price you are quoted for CRT should be inclusive of tax and gratuity.

A. Gratuity is not included except for Dinner Shows and Cinderella's Royal Table. Merchandise or photo-imaging products that may be offered at Character Dining Experiences are not included, except at Cinderella's Royal Table.

this is from the official Disney World website. But then does that mean that the photos are not included in the Akershus PSB character meal?

I thought I read somewhere that in-room dining was included. Hmm... I'll keep checking around!

Akershus pricing is changing to include the photograph in April, I believe

If your dining party includes six & more guests you'll have an automatic 18% gratutity added.

How do they do that? If my party is 8 or more...and each of us is on the Dining Plan...Do they give us another bill for the 18-20% tip...? What about the tax...Do we get a bill for the tax, too?

If you're all on the Dining Plan, and all using Dining Plan TS credits, the tip should be included, and not extra, regardless of party size

If you we're NOT on the Dining Plan, because of your party size, the tip would be automatically calculated at 18% and presented to you to pay.

Am I right? Anyone else?

If you are a party of 5 or less on the dining plan, and you are eating anywhere other than the 3 listed places, you figure your own tip. You can pay the tip by cash, credit card, room key linked to credit card, etc. if you wish. I understand that when the bill is presented for signing, it will include suggested tip amounts based on a percentage of the menu price of the meal.

If you are a party of 6 or more on the dining plan, you will be billed for an 18% automatic tip.

(The party size also applies to parties who are NOT using the dining plan - no automatic tip for party of 5 or less, 18% automatically added for 6 or more).

Members of the Disney Dining Experience (not the same thing as the Disney Dining Plan) have an 18% automatic gratuity added to all their bills at table service and lounges, regardless of their party size.

Yes - you're right - I was thinking specifically about CRT in my mind, so in that case tip would be included, but in all other cases (besides dinner shows and in-room dining previously discussed) tip would be an extra cost.

Whew! Another thing to think through thoroughly and budget for our September trip!

Whew! This is stressful! Now, like others, I will have to figure out which way to go...Annual Pass again and purchase the 20% off dinning experience card...or to get the Magic Your Way Package...? The tip will be automatically be 18% either way....Just a lot of thinking to do over the next few months...and still...things could change again!
