HI all,
Got back 2 weeks ago (that Long!!!) from a 4/12-4/17 trip to DW with DPP. The DIS Board proved invaluable to my trip planning. Thank you
One of my question threads concerned seating arrangments at TS. We were 5 (3 adults and 2 kids). I was concerned that they would put us at tables for 4 and squish us.
The reality-Yes they did put us (mostly) at tables of 4. But it actually turned out ok.
Chef Mickey's dinner/Crystal Palace breakfast/CRT lunch/Norway Princess lunch-table for 4 with one chair at the end.
At each the CM seating us would tell us where the kids should sit for the characters. At all it turned out just fine. And believe me I am super picky and would have made them change us to a better table. One thing to point out however-we made sure we told our waitstaff to keep coming by to clean off used buffet plates.
Lots of times it depended on our ADR time. At Chef Mickey's we at dinner at 8:25 pm-they were going to seat us by the buffet but I had read here to get into the main dining room. They were gracious and put us there. So I don't know if we would have been at a table for 6 by the buffet or not. No wait-seated right at ADR time
At the Crystal Palace it was at 9:20 am and was super crowded. We sat in the back furthest away from the buffet but still no problem at all! There were tables on either side of us but none to the back-to the back of us was part of a inside gazebo. So we had room. We waited outside for about 15-20 minutes.
At CRT it was a late, late lunch ADR at 2:45 pm. The bottom part of the dining room was being cleared out for the dinner crowd but don't get me wrong there were still people eating lunch so it wasn't wierd. The top part of the dining room was where guests who had late lunch ADR's were seated. It again worked out fine. We had the princesses to ourselves no rush at all. The waitstaff did not rush us.
About a 15 minute wait to be seated and a 5 minute wait to take our pics with Cinderella.
Similiar situation was Norway-although this time we had a very early lunch ADR at 11:20 am. They were finishing up breakfast in the main room and those with early lunch were seating in the side dining room. We were next to a window near the buffet and had plenty of room with the extra chair at the end of the table. We had to wait around 15-20 minutes to be seated but the girls changed into their princess outfits during that time. No line to check in but it started to grow very soon. No wait at all to see Belle and take the picture.
On the other end- at Ohana's Lilo & Stitch breakfast at 9:20 am we weren't seated for almost 40 minutes. This time we were seated at a round table for 8
We actually lost in it but it was fine. Waitress was great and characters were terrific.
At Tusker House we had not ADRS-we walked up at 10:00 to see if we could eat lunch and we got a reservation for 2:00 pm We were seated at a table for 6 -the first time all vacation. We were in the back in an off side room and it still worked out just fine.
So...there is my story folks! Hope it helps somebody. Now I do not think a table for 4 plus an extra chair would work for 5 adults-you would need a table for 6.
But with the girls it did work out.
