TS Restaurants reserved for ADRs ONLY??????

I was just curious about something, my cousin is going to WDW this upcoming Friday they called to make ADRs last week (i know last minute..i warned them) and they were told that there were next to none available!

i guess my question is do you think that the disney reservation system leaves tables available at each time of the day open for walk ups? I mean how could they just fill up the dining spots 100% with adrs, I have a feeling disney leaves open many dining spots and that if you dont have adrs you still have a chance to eat at most TS restaurants...what do you think?

We always make adrs and this past xmas week, many TS restaurants were turning away walk-ups and telling them they were fully booked, not even giving an option to wait a number of hours. so it really has become important for TS, at least during peak times.

We've been to many TS restaurants waiting for our ADR time and the host or hostess has turned away walk-ups. Or, they say their first available table is at 9pm or something - when the walk-ups are looking for lunch. Business is business. If Disney can fill up a restaurant from opening to closing, they will. There are also some non-Disney owned restaurants that may have different policies. Places we've seen them turn away: Le Chef de France, Le Cellier, Sci-Fi, 50's PT, LTT, CP, and sometimes Tony's. We've also seen signs outside Guest Relations stating that all table services are booked for the day and to try counter service.

100% of capacity is available for ADRs. Nothing is held back for walk-ups. Disney doesn't care about letting the late planners have a chance. They care about filling restaurants and making money.

Never hurts to have them keep trying. People often change their minds. If they are trying to eat at prime dinner time, 6ish to 8ish it may be tight. But if they go around that chances of getting and ADR greatly increase. Heck, try once or twice a day to see if anything opened up.

We're at WDW right now and have had no problem with walk ups for the most part. We went to Wilderness Lodge and got right into the Whispering Canyon, or whatever it's called with no ADR. It was around 1, and we only waited about 10 minutes.

Yesterday we had ADR's for Le Cellier, and while they were turning people away, they were also making reservations at the other WS TS restaurants if people wanted them. Every country had something open for lunch, including France, Italy, Japan, China, Mexico, Germany and England.

So at this time of year, I'd say it's not necessary to have an ADR if you're flexible about where you want to eat. But if your heart is set on something, best to keep trying on the ADR's because they don't leave x amount of tables open for walk ups. It's the luck of the draw if you get in.

Lunch is much easier than dinner. And yes, we've walked in WCC and unfortunately now we know why!

They definitely fill 100% with ADR's and don't leave anything for walkups. They will probably find places that have openings but it's not because the tables were held open.

It might be harder next weekend though because of V-Day. Tell them to keep trying.

Except for the really popular places like Narcooses I think it's easier to get a walk up for restaurants at the resorts. Of course not many people want to leave the parks for dinner.
