TS restaurants do "to go"?

I did a search already, but didn't come up with anything -- can anyone tell me if the table service restaurants ever let you order something to go?

Suppose...say...I'm there with my kiddos, no DH, but I have a craving for a meal because some DISer posted irresistible photos of a dish that I saw while I was absolutely starving and suddenly became obsessed with having it and couldn't think straight because I wanted it so badly, but I didn't want to take the kiddos for a full sit-down meal...could I just order it to go (assuming I'd tip and perform the expected good manners)? Or is that a no-no because it's taking the chef's attention away from those who are seated (or some other reason)? Completely hypothetical question, of course. :goodvibes

Disney TS restaurants are not set up to take to-go orders. If they will, it would probably be because they aren't busy - and these days most of them are very busy.

Yeah, to go is sort what Disney has counter service for! In June, one member of our party got sick and couldn't come to dinner. I asked our server if we could order something to go for her to take back to our resort, it was like pulling teeth. And they said they wouldn't let us do it on the DDP. So I got creative and told the waitress I wanted to order two meals. She brought them out, I said "can you put that in a box for me" and she did so. She said the servers are fine with it, but management isn't. But it was my inlaws last night and we didn't want the credits to go to waste.

I wouldn't count on this. The only reason we were allowed to do it was because we were all eating there and I just ordered an extra entree with our meals. They knew exactly what I was up to and just played along. But had I just walked in, I know they would have sent me away empty handed!

The usual policy is that you must have a reservation (if needed) and be seated at a table. After the food is served you could then ask for it to be boxed up. But you cannot go up to the podium to order your food to go.

I can understand why they don't do ToGo orders. All those people who couldn't get Le Cellier reservations would just walk up for togo orders. The place would be a mad house. The same would go for just about any popular restaurant that is hard to get in to.

Ah, thanks for the input. Guess either a) the kiddos will have to park it or b) I'll have to start focusing on photos from only CS restaurants!

Thanks again!
