TS on party night or just go for action?

hi all we will be going to the MNSSHP in Oct -- and from what I hear we can get in at 4 -- I thought perfect I can try for a 4 reservation dinner at BOG -- but then I thought is that a bad idea? should I make fast pass reservations between 4-7? is there "party" stuff going on before 7 -- or should we take this opportunity to try BOG?
what does everyone think??

I don't think you'll have much luck getting BOG at this point .... If you can, a 4 pm spot would be a good way to start the party, you'll be done in time to line up for your first M&G

I think it depends on your overall planning and how much time you are spending at MK other days. We did not do a TS meal because we wanted to ride some rides during that time, and we got in line for characters at 5:30 (this was the Christmas party and I had read that Jack was coming out early, like 6:15, so not exactly the same as Halloween, but people do line up early for characters). If you have plenty of MK time other days and don't need to squeeze in some rides from 4-7, then your plan sounds good.

We also have done it both ways. We have done a 5pm dinner reservation at both the Plaza and Liberty Tree Tavern. They switched out our tickets for wrist bands during dinner. More recently, we have had a mid-afternoon meal at Captain Cookes at the Poly before entering the MK at 4pm. We had spent the morning at EPCOT, so we made our three FP + reservations between 4 and 7. That worked really well.

Keep checking for a 4:15 or 4:30pm cancelation at BOG. We had a 4:15 adr at plaza and still had plenty of time to ride what we wanted and get in line early for Jack and Sally. Halloween festivities don't get underway until right at 7pm.
