TS credit question

If we are at a TS and I want to share a meal with my 4 year old, can I? Or does he always have to order?
I understand he would if it was family style or buffet but I was wondering if say we were at the Coral Reef and he didn't want a full meal, can we just ask for an extra plate for him?

You can, but then, what will you do with his TS credit? It can only be used for a kid's TS and you can only order the number of kids' meals that equals the number of kids at one time.

you hit the nail on the head.
those were my thoughts exactly.

Then maybe at another meal you and your husband share a meal and child orders and you all kind of share the food. We do a lot of sharing when we are on the dining plan.

We booked the Star Wars dinner and I thought I would just use the extra TS for that since it is 2 TS credits.

kids credits can only be used for kids as in it will show up in your account as kids meals and if you have 1 kids they will only allow to order 1 kids meal. the credits show up at let`s say 14 adult TS and 7 kids TS and 21 QS meals for a 7 night stay.

Your child will have the extra credits, but you won't. Are you paying OOP for the adults at the Star Wars dinner?

At Rainforest Café they made my sister order a meal for my nephew (well, they were going to charge her for meal regardless) even though she told them he wouldn't eat a bite of it. She wasn't even planning on sharing with him. He didn't eat anything at all and in fact I ended up leaving with him because the animals terrified him. So, go into it knowing that some restaurants insist that everyone on the DDP get a meal.

I was going to pay out of pocket for my husband and I and then use 2 kid table credits for his dinner. Do you think that would work?

That's what I thought might happen. Oh well, I guess I can try and see if they will allow it. If they don't, no big loss.

Yes, that should be fine because H&V is a Disney owned restaurant. Rainforest Cafe is a third party restaurant and because of that you'll find that sometimes the third party restaurants or servers interpret the rules of the dining plan differently or more strictly.
