Ok, I need your help great disers!

My sister and her fiance plan on going to disney the 10th to the 24th of dec. for their honeymoon.

They have already booked coronado springs with two week tickets and deluxe dining plan for their whole stay.

As I have planned our last two holidays to disney my sister has asked me to do the research on where to eat.

Dinners wont be a problem and they most likely wont book any lunches asthey dont want to be too tied down.

However, this is where we differ I recommend that she books a few breakfasts or at least goes to some table service restraunts for breakfasts as walk ups when she gets there.

My sister wants to just eat counter service breakfasts the whole trip.:sad2::rolleyes:

We have never been to a TS breakfast we usually get the regular dining plan and use our snack for breakfast or have cereal in the room etc.:rolleyes1

So I was wondering if it would be possible for you all to recommend say 5 or 6 table service breafasts on the dining plan, prefarably 1TS and whilst character meals are not completely ruled out it would be better if the breakfasts didnt have characters.

Any suggestions would be very welcome and appreciated!:thumbsup2

Good breakfasts without characters:

Kona Cafe for Tonga Toast! YUM! :goodvibes
Grand Floridian Cafe
Maya Grill at CSR had a decent breakfast if I recall. Might be very convenient for them since that is where they are staying.

Haven't been, but heard good things:
The Wave breakfast
Whispering Canyon Cafe breakfast

Of course if it were me and I was "wasting" credits on breakfast prices, I'd make sure there were characters involved. Honeymoon or not! :rotfl2: I think most of the worthwhile breakfasts for the DP on site involve people in costumes. :lmao:

I totally agree with PP Grand Floridan cafe is great for a romantic, grown-up breakfast DW and I ate breakfast there a lot during our Honeymoon. Also the Kona Cafe always a great spot, have them try the macadamia pineapple pancakes!

MellyBeans: I totally agree with you, if it was me I would be looking for every character breakfast I could get my hands on :thumbsup2 but my sister thinks it would all be too much for her husband to be as he has only been to diney once and that was for a few days staying offsite and not eating on property :scared1:

I might be able to persuade her if there are any character breakfasts that have great or unique food as well as good interactions or different characters.:thumbsup2

Sgt Tibbs: thank you very much for the suggestions I have to say the macadamia pineapple pancakes sound amazing! and both of these places would be great for their magic kingdom days.

Have they been to Disney before? Now, I realize you said it would better if the breakfasts did not have characters... (here comes my but...)

What about Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom? To be honest, I'm not a big fan of Pooh & friends and really tried to sway my kids to 'Ohanas.

But (told ya it was coming) the amazing perk of having an 8:05 ADR when MK opens at 9am is being allowed in MK before all the other guests! Main Street was almost completely empty! It was great walking down (up?) Main Street and stopping at each Photopass Photographer to get photos of the Castle behind us. We did this all the way to the last PPP closest to the Castle, then headed to CP for breakfast.

The ambiance of Crystal Palace is wonderful! There's a good variety of hot & cold foods and bottomless juice. And we were lucky to be seated at a window table looking right out at the Castle. It was a great start to our first full day at Disney! :cloud9:

Our family's top 3 breakfast choices are:
1)Kouzzina's- unique options, as well as standbys like waffle with honey mascarpone, yummy!
2)Kona- Tonga Toast or Macadamia pancakes.
3)Donald's Safari breakfast @ Tusker House, AK. This is a character breakfast, but has both traditional breakfast food and some african influenced food choices which is fun. Also has yummy "junge" juice, and they would potentially be able to get in AK early for this as well.

We really enjoyed Kona, Grand Floridian Cafe and Kouzzina. Each had lots of delicious choices and very different from eachother.

Kona- I had the pineapple macadamia nut pancakes and my DBF had the samoan. Both were delicious.

GFC- I had the lobster eggs benedict. Honestly one of the best things I have ever eaten. DBF was boring and had the American.

Kouzzina- We both had the stacked breakfast. It was really good. Very different from what we would traditionally have for breakfast.

Another ENTHUSIASTIC vote for Kona!!! Plus it's at the Polynesian..how much more romantic can you get!

We've eaten breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe, Grand Floridian Cafe, Kona Cafe, Cinderella's Royal Table, Crystal Palace and enjoyed each. We are trying Kouzzina, The Wave, 1900 Park Fare and Olivia's in a few weeks.

DaniB : yes they have both been to Disney before but my sisters fiance has only been once and never really got to experience it as he went with his neices so was more focused on them.princess:princess:

I agree totally that the crystal palace breakfast would be great way to get into the magic kingdom early, this was actually one of the only character breakfast I had been thinking of recommending to my sister.

I will recommend this to her and see what she says and the fiance has a weird sense of humour and might get a kick out of eating bacon with piglet running around:sad2::rolleyes:

2girlsmom : thanks i had not thought about Tusker house but it would be a very handy breakfast and useful as we usually find it difficult to find places to eat in AK:thumbsup2

Melanie B : think I have pretty much settled on kona cafe because it sounds fantastic and we had always talked about how good their breakfast menu is!

I came across the Grand floridian cafe when a previous poster mentioned it and just about destroyed my laptop drooling on it.:scared1: why have I never been here or even read this menu and how good it is I mentioned the lobster eggs benedict and she thinks that it sounds like a keeper and I am so glad that you were able to confirm my suspiscions that it was amazing:thumbsup2

We are going in May on the Deluxe Dining plan for the first time. Like your sister, we too did not want to be tied down around lunch time. So we booked TS breakfasts and TS dinners.
Our favorite breakfasts are:
Tusker House
Kona
Akershus Banquet
Crystal Palace

I hope they have a great honeymoon!

(My FIL and his new wife are there now on their honeymoon that I helped them plan.)

Here's some of our favorites for breakfast:

Kona Cafe at the Poly is a must!!
Grand Floridian Cafe at the GF
Tusker House at AK- this one is a character meal
WCC at WL
