Hello
Ok I want to make sure I have this clear…. I booked 3 night in a studio for sept 1-4 with home resort points at AK. I was short a few points with AK contract to book the night of September 4. Will the 7 month booking where all points are the same(we have BLT points) be considered on February 1 or February 4 to add the additional night of February 4 to the existing reservation? I’ve been a member for almost 15 years and still am confused by this scenario. Thank you so much for the help!

Yes, you can modify on Feb 1st.
@Sandisw you are the expert, but what you said does not seem right. I have BLT points and if I want to book AK for Sept 4, I cannot do that until Feb 4. It does not seem right (fair) that the OP can use their BLT points to book AK for Sept 4 on Feb 1.

ETA: Unless all four nights are available for a normal 7-month booking on Feb 1.

I believe it is Feb. 4. If you go to add a night Feb. 1, it will still only let you pull from AK points. When you log into your dashboard, it tells you when you can book at 7 months. The only way to use the BLT points at 7 months for AK on Feb 4 would be to use only BLT for the entire stay resulting in you getting your AK points back. I do not think that is what you wanted to do.

But the BLT points cannot be used for a reservation until Feb. 4. If they try to modify it will only allow borrowing points.

It allows you to add at 7 months from the start. I do it all the time and it picks up the other contract without issue.

Now, it won’t allow you replace what you have unless there are days still available but adding days works.

The AKV contract will be locked so it has to be used but it will let you click the BLT contract to use for additional days since the start of the reservation is at 7 months.

Are wanting to replace the AK points with the BLT points or just add on one night using BLT points for Feb. 4?

I don't see how you can apply non home resort points before the 7 month day. It is clear on your dashboard what date non home resort points can be used unless you replace all the points with non home resort points provided those rooms are still available.

The system sees it as a 7 month booking from Feb 1st. because you are adding to the original ones and non home resort can be used from that date forward for up to 7 nights.

So, when you modify the original trip, assuming it’s less than 7 days, it allows you to add up to 7 days and those last days can be booked with non home resort points.

Like I said, the original contract used will be locked, so it does not allow you to replace what nights you booked using your priority but it does allow for future nights added to those initial nights.

As I said, I do it all the time without issue. To add, if the non home resort has banked points and there are still nights available for those initial days booked At the home resort, it will actually pull and use those and let go home resort points.

But, that only works if there are still nights available to replace the original ones booked. If not, it only lets you add.

@Sandisw As I wrote in my post #4 above, that does not seem "fair", but you are the expert on what the system allows.

@mickeyshellbelle please post tomorrow and let us know if you had success booking AK for Sept. 4 on Feb 1 with BLT points.
Also, let us know what room category you currently have booked. There is currently availability for all 4 nights for a Kidani Village Savanah View studio, however all other AK Studio views (For both Kidani and Jambo) show no availability for Sunday Sept 3rd so no member could book a 4-night stay starting on Sept 1st tomorrow, except for Kidani Savanah view.

ETA: there is currently availability for Sept 4th in all AK Studio categories except Value.

They can because they hold the room for the 1st to the 3rd and when you modify a trip at 7 months you get to book up to 7 nights.

As I said, you can’t use them for the 1st to the 3rd, unless available still, but the system does treat a modification as a new booking. It locks the contract for home resort which is why you can’t exchange the nights actually secured with home resort booking, but extending it does.

I didn't know this was possible. Do you know if there are limitations with resale or use year? For example, I have 2 resale contracts (AKL and BLT) and one is April and one is June use year, and I have to pick which contract when I book right? Is it possible to pick both? I'm trying to think how this will look

You have two memberships. That is different as you can not book a single reservation on different memberships without transferring points first.

This is about having more than one contract at different resorts but in the same membership

For example, I own both SSR and RIV in my August UY. I can use those together at 7 months.

But, I can not use my SSR points to add to my RIV trips booked on my Dec UY at 7 months unless I transfer them first.
