ok, folks, need some thoughts... we're travelling with 4 adults 2 girls who eat like kids but will be paid for as adults and one kid.

we would like to stretch the table service adult credits by paying OOP for the girls when possible and being able to have breakfast at Kona on our last morning.

if our plans are for whispering canyon, planet hollywood, and concourse steakhouse would we get better value by paying OOP at some of these for buying them meals off the kids menu (which they'd prefer) and using those for us adults at kona. OR just paying OOP at Kona for everyone and just using the credits for the girls at the dinners above.

hope this made sense.

You might be able to save a little money by purchasing kids' meals for them and saving the credits. Frankly, with 4 adult meals on the DDP, you 'd probably have enough food to share even without the extra kids' meals, but I'd order them anyway, especially since you said the girls would prefer kids' meals.

But it would be less complicated to just use everyone's credits at the first 3 meals and pay OOP for Kona. Not to mention, breakfast is the least expensive meal (ie, least value for your credits), especially if you're not doing a buffet.

Personally, I'd go for the convenience of either having everyone all on the plan or all off the plan over the slight savings of banking credits for the Kona breakfast. But either one should work just fine for you.

Since the DDP seperation of child/adult credits went into effect there have been lots of reports of people NOT being able to pay cash for kids meals to save credits. Even when those kids are "adults" on the plan. I don't know if people are still trying to do this to save credits for family/friends not on the plan :confused3 , but Disney seems bent on not allowing this. People have reported CM's and managers flat-out saying "no" to this. That families must use the card as stated eg. 4A/1C.

I would just have a back-up plan, in case you get hassled. Even though you are not trying to save credits for Aunt Mary and Uncle Roy staying at the Holiday Inn, the CM's have no way of knowing that and may be suspicious. :goodvibes
