Trying to rent a SUV ---need help!

I am trying to rent a SUV for Oct 28-Nov 6 and can't get anything for less than high $300's and $400's. I spent at least 2 hours yesterday using all different codes from Mousaver's with no luck. This is the first time we were thinking of renting a car because we are visiting relatives in Tampa. But at these prices we might have to rent it for the day and use the towncar service! We have to do a grocery stop because we are traveling with a 10 month old. Any suggestions?

I'd book the lowest price you can find and keep checking back every day with all the different companies to see if the rates go down.

I'd also book the lowest price you've seen, and keep looking. Also try Expedia. Sometimes they have "good" rates.

Someone on these boards just posted that they got a minivan for 22 dollars a day with priceline. You may want to look into priceline and see??? Good luck.
