Trying to put together my touring plans-two quick questions

We leave in less than two weeks now and I am trying to put together my touring plans so that I can print them out. I have two quick questions that I want to add to my notes on my touring cards:

1. What's the best place to find a spot for the DL daytime parade? (We're going to try to see in on our arrival afternoon-June 22) How far in advance do I need to get our spot for the parade?

2. What's the best place to view the Pixar Parade? How far in advance do I need to get there?

1. Probably on the hub so you can see the castle in the background. But not the easiest spot to get.

2. Pixar Parade anywhere not facing a construction wall is best. I've found at the far end of the park by paradise peir is easy to get a seat. But this is the construction area. It just nice to watch there and make a run for it to TSMM after it goes by.

I like the view of the parade from right on Main street. It's not a typical parade, it moves and then stops and they do the performance with it stopped.

We have a favorite spot to watch parades that move--on the benches across from Pixie Hollow, around the back side of the Matterhorn. But for a parade like Celebrate a Street Party, we liked it from Main Street. (For how much we liked it, which wasn't a great deal unfortunately)

Our favorite spot to watch the Pixar parade is over by the waterfall, across from Bug's Land. Just find a seat/place to stand as soon as you see other people gathering. I saved our spots and my husband took the kids over to Bug's Land to play in the water while I waited.

The street parade in DL has three party zones. One is on Main Street, one is by the hub, and the third is by IASW. I prefer to be by IASW, mainly because it is less crowded.

Last week we were there and at dl it was less crowded by IASW. In CA for Pixar we found a great spot at the Paradise Pier end.

Thanks for the responses. I think we'll try to sit by IASW at DL. Not too familiar with DCA, so I'll look at the map when it comes in the mail to figure out where to sit.
