I am hoping to do an April vacation and would really like to get an idea of what it will cost. I am looking at the middle to end of April and I think the beginning of November is priced roughly about the same as the end of April. Is it safe to assume that what ever I am getting for prices for November will be about what I can expect for April or am I totally off?? When can I expect the 2009 prices to be released??? TIA!!

:) A CM I spoke with yesterday said the prices should be out in "a couple of weeks." I take that to mean sometime in August, which is what they've been saying for a while now.

I went ahead and booked our rooms for April 2009, but I dont have the actual price, just an estimate.

As for April being the same price as November, just remember that Easter is in April in 2009 (unlike 2008 when it was in March) so the Disney seasons will be diff for 2009. The weeks before and after Easter will be at peak prices most likely. The "seasons" dates will be released when they release the pricing.

Happy planning!:)

We booked two rooms in April too and can't wait until the new prices come out so we can decide if we are going to do a package deal. But I know since we are going at a busy time there will not be much of a deal

I would think, and am hoping, that the peak season will end around the 19th or 20th. We arrive on the 17th and hope to only be paying peak rate for 2 nights or so. When trying to guess what my costs are, I have been adding about 10 percent to this years costs. Then I subtract that 10 percent because I am hoping to get a AAA discount on the room and have been basing my costs on those assumptions. We already have our room reserved and have about 50 percent of it paid off, hoping to pay it all before I arrive.

OK so here's a question - we are also heading out around easter. How far before easter will the peak season start, do you think? And if I book starting on a non-peak day - like far enough before easter, does that rate continue throughout my stay?

I checked the 2008 rate seasons and peak season was 2/14-3/29 this year (with Easter being 3/23 this year), and regular season kicking in on 3/30....so peak season will most likely start mid-February and go into April sometime for 2009 . In 2008 Disney started their pricing according to what season each night was in. For example, if you book on a non-peak day but the pricing season changes during your stay, your rate will change during those other nights.....your rate will not carry through the entire stay. Same goes for starting a trip during peak (or any other season). If your trip starts during peak season but changes to regular or value during your trip, you will be charged accordingly. It used to be that whatever season you checked in on, that was the price that carried through your stay; but Disney changed that to be night/season specific. So depending on when Easter falls in 2009, I'm assuming that will most likely determine how far into April peak season will go :confused3. But as far as peak season starting, I think it's always been mid-February to cover President's Day weekend in February and all spring breaks in March through Easter.
